crimper Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Maybe you've been to Ozone, maybe you've only heard of Ozone, but the "secret" is out, and finally an official guidebook with color photos, topo maps, route descriptions and gear beta is being made available. On October 1 at the Lucky Lab in NW Portland a limited edition printing of 500 guidebooks will be sold. If you need incentive to attend, consider that this will be the first and last printing of this guidebook. This event will also include a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit one of the central figures in Ozone's development. For all the details on the above, go to this website: www.ozoneguide.blogspot.com
kevbone Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 This is a very good cause. I hope all can attend.
markd Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 the main purpose of this event is to raise money for local climber kevin rauch and his family; the bonus is you get a nice 50+ page color guidebook to ozone. there will also be a silent auction; slideshow; music and good people to be around. so come on out for a great night and worthy cause.
sossity Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Really looking forward to this. Some people have been working really hard over the past few months to make this happen, and now it's going to! The book is going to be sweet, the silent auction will be full of all kinds of cool stuff, from climbing gear to yoga lessons, and it's all for a great cause. Please pass the word and come on out to support Rauch and his family . . .
phillygoat Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Count me in! And if I have a few IPAs I might be inclined to bust out some of my dance moves! See you folks there! phillip
Off_White Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I'll make a jaunt down for this. If any Olympia folks wanna carpool with me that'd be great. I had a really great time climbing at Ozone this spring.
ivan Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 i'm looking forward to this - look for me there - i'll be heavily intoxicated and tall
JosephH Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I've been really impressed with the ardent loyalty and support Kevin has inspired in his friends - count me in on this great way the rest of us can help out supporting Kevin and his family.
stevetimetravlr Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I don't know kevin but will donate some items from my antique stores for his cause. Thanks for promoting this.
kevbone Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I don't know kevin but will donate some items from my antique stores for his cause. Thanks for promoting this. Wow....thanks so much.
strumpett Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I don’t know Kevin either, but will try to make the event to show support for a local climber and a local climbing crag.
sossity Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 That's awesome and that's what we're hoping to see: lots of people turning out just for a great cause — and a cool climbing guidebook to boot — whether they know Kevin or not. Spread the word!
billcoe Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 _______________________________________________________________ I'll be there for sure, I think this is such a great thing. It reflects well on Kevin Rauch, Kevin Rauche's friends and the local climbing community as well.
pigchampion Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 i'll try my hardest to be there. what a great event, good job everyone.
pink_chalk Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 If anyone would like a flier or postcard for their office or gym - send me a PM!
pink Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 i met kevin when arent got married. i remember attending a party the night before arguing weather or not the crux on jills was 5.9 or 5.10. kevin made everyone realize how silly it was, cool guy. send me one of those books, post cards, fliers. this is a good cause for a NW climber. i'm gonna try to make it, i hope work slows down around the first.
sossity Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Do try to make it if at all possible. And if not, maybe someone can pick up a book for you. It'll be worth it.
