Skeezix Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Considering looking at a Suzuki DR200 SE. Anybody have any experience with it? Need something for zipping around town and can't really see myself on a scooter... Any thoughts? Quote
mtn_mouse Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 can't really see myself on a scooter... Any thoughts? Weeeell, you sound like a Ford F250 type. Quote
Skeezix Posted June 15, 2008 Author Posted June 15, 2008 can't really see myself on a scooter... Any thoughts? Weeeell, you sound like a Ford F250 type. Nah...I'm currently piloting a Dodge Caravan. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Good luck with your search. I'm looking for the same thing. I've driven the Honda 49cc scooter and had a blast. They rent them right across the pond in Victoria. However, I would like something for the highway if I have to go a bit further. I am looking at 125cc to 200cc small bikes. The suzuki looks good, also the yamaha tw 200, along with the kawasaki eliminator, and honda nighthawk. So many choices, so little gas. Quote
Fairweather Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Look at the new Yamaha XT250. A little more power and a new digital display. Front and rear disc brakes. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 There's an impressive one! Wonder what it would be like with street tires on it instead of knobbys. Quote
TREETOAD Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I am looking at one of these http://www.kawasaki.ca/content/concept.php?l=en&mpl=5&my=2009&m=1105 I thought of a scooter and there are some cool ones out there like these http://www.madass.ca/ but I need something for the short trips on the highway to work, and also for the woods. Figger_Eight Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I wouldn't ride anything smaller than a 250 on the highway. You'll get blown around by big trucks and the safety in a 2 wheel ride is the accelerator, not the brake. It's good to have the hp to get out of the way. Honda Rebel might be a good choice. Those bigger scooter are goofy. Quote
TREETOAD Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I think motor scooters are illegal on the highway in B.C. Quote
pink Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 looks like you decided on vinyl porter, good choice. Quote
Skeezix Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 How do you pedal that thing, Porter? Actually, I saw one of these parked by the Upper Dungeness Trailhead yesterday, so I'm rethinking my two-wheeled transportation paradigm... Kawasaki KLR 650 Dual Purpose Motorbike Pricetag: $5349US Quote
Skeezix Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 Sell the van, make up the difference on gas mileage. The dude abides. Quote
pink Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 i wish i still had the van and i'd be making up the difference on rent. Quote

bstach Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I'm leaning towards something like this for commuting. Granted, I am less than 15km from my office. Anyone here have any experience w electric bikes? Quote
Bug Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I need a road bike to pedal from Redmond to Issaquah every day for work. Cheap second hand, with the forearm pads to save my wimpy wrists. Who's got one hanging in their garage? Quote
