Portland is a midsized to small city with a large population of under 35s with dispoable income, real estate prices are generally low and a nice lifestyle can be afforded if you can find decent employment. The generally sucky nature of the OR job market makes the last part the problem.

Only between the hours of 6am- 9am and 3pm - 7pm.....and that is all before they build us a new bridge.......

Sometime around 2010. They are currently leaning towards a toll bridge. You think a toll bridge is going to be significantly faster?

I have no idea. I dont have the solution. Something has to give.....

Thanks HC. Wife is interviewing for a seniorish job in her field. I would bring my company with me. For my company, it would probably be a wonderful change of scenery. I've heard you can buy a decent house for $500k, which won't pay for a 1 bedroom condo here in NYC.

Heh, anything is more business friendly than New York :) Yes, real estate is much cheaper than NYC. For international air service there isn't much - AMS & FRA in europe, NRT in asia.
