KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 on the Western Front. Just saw this classic 1930 film, thanks to my Netflix queue. Read the book 12 years ago, and was not expecting the film to be as poignant, but it comes pretty damn close. The film is as relevent today as it ever was. All you peaceniks should watch it if you haven't yet. Quote
builder206 Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Which one was it? I think it has been made more than once. Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Pretty realistic battle scenes. The night artillery barrage was artistically done. I couldn't help noticing some striking personality similarities between the high school teacher and the author of this thread, however. Quote

KaskadskyjKozak Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 Worst thread ever. it's over your head, boner - go back to your sand box and play with your toys. Quote
builder206 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 (edited) a film is literature? Well, a movie made from literature. You’re right, being literate means familiarity with the letters. I was giving sprayers the benefit of the doubt. Most people here write as if they don’t read books habitually. Edited November 2, 2007 by builder206 Quote

No. 13 Baby Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 The film is as relevent today as it ever was. All you peaceniks should watch it if you haven't yet. I love it when a chickenhawk lectures on the realities of war. I love it even more when an alleged Phi Beta Kappa misspells "relevant." Quote
