wayne
Nobody but right wingers should use any plastic containers while heating any food, even the plastic oven wrap on many frozen food dishes.
marylou
What Wayne said. And keep eating highly processed food too, really, it's good for you!
JayB
If you are worried about ingesting compounds that mimic estrogen, I suggest that you lay off of soy, flaxseed, and other staples of the right-wing diet...
spotly
I read about this a few years ago. It's the hard nalgenes with the #7 in the recycle triangle that they're referring to. The softer white ones aren't #7 though.
catbirdseat
Nobody but right wingers should use any plastic containers while heating any food, even the plastic oven wrap on many frozen food dishes. Saran Wrap is a PVC film plasticized with phthalate esters. Phthalates also act like estrogen mimetics. Actually it's safe as long as the film does not contact the food while it is being heated. olyclimber
Oh no! I read about it on the internet: http://www.ehow.com/how_2099630_make-impromptu-condom.html but if you give it a try let me know how it works. If it doesn't I'd be happy to donate funds for the baby shower.
olyclimber
fyi, i guessed that would be possible and the Internet delivered. But unlike xkcd's rollercoaster comment, I didn't cause the content to be created. http://xkcd.com/chesscoaster/
Dechristo
Saran wrap can also be used to make a condom in a pinch. If you're a Saran Wrap expert, it can be used also as a diaphragm. sorry, I don't have a diagram for the diaphragm.

ClimbingPanther
ditto what CBS said about pH. this means you shouldn't bleach your nalgene either. however, this is not something to get your hair mussed about. if you wash correctly, and refrain from drinking that year-old nalgene water, you'll be A-OK even if you're pregnant. leaching takes time, and if you refill your bottle with fresh water and drink it within a reasonable time (don't really have an exact answer, probably hours or days) then the concentration won't be high enough to worry about. if you're not prego, there has been zero ill effects documented as far as I know.
