olyclimber Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 then you really have given up on rock climbing???? LOLZER Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 I'm a whore I'll be doing it only for the $$. Â I think I'll start a counter revolution at Beacon........ Quote
olyclimber Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Thats what this board needs! Another champion for Beacon. Let me be the first to suggest you write a new Beacon Select guidebook. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 Forget Beacon it will be the entire gorge. I think I'll name it "Hwy 14 Revisited: The Hidden Climbs of Greater Vancouver" Quote
ivan Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I'm a whore I'll be doing it only for the $$. I think I'll start a counter revolution at Beacon........ hmm, it'll have to be more like a counter-counter-counter revolution or somethign - there's more than a few going in all kinda gaddam directions!  and on that note - hey, it'll be kinda dry sunday - who wants to run some beacon laps in the damp w/ me?!? Quote
JosephH Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Come on down...! Give a shout if it looks like you'll make it past the sandtraps on route 14 and all the way to the stone... Quote
Off_White Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 PP, I think Portland is even more liberal than Seattle, boy are you gonna suffer. But hey, you'll only be 4-1/2 hours from Index... Quote
Off_White Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 That'll be great, plus I'm more prone to go see music in Portland these days, so perhaps we'd get to do that too. Quote
kevbone Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Forget Beacon it will be the entire gorge. I think I'll name it "Hwy 14 Revisited: The Hidden Climbs of Greater Vancouver" Â Â You are funny... Quote
JosephH Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 That'll be great, plus I'm more prone to go see music in Portland these days, so perhaps we'd get to do that too. Â Do give a shout if you're down sometime. Maybe even get out and climb... Quote
Couloir Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Be sure to bring you're bike! They are very popular around here. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 I never noticed how many bikes were on the road until I got my Hummer. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 At least you can enjoy your favorite team sport down there! Oh...nevermind. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 So what's the Gresham area like? Quote
Winter Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 if you like hos, meth, subdivisions, and run down strip malls, Gresham is the place for you. Quote
layton Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 meth is way cheaper there due to the close proximity to the manufacturer. There may even be an outlet store behind the outlet stores Quote
olyclimber Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 So basically we're trading Peter for Layton. Seems like an even swap to me. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 26, 2007 Author Posted October 26, 2007 LOL Well how about the surrounding area. Hey Im just looking on a map Quote
layton Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 move to inner NE portland, the area is nice, it's gentrifying and houses are still affordable. Also look into St. John's. Actually, just look at St. Johns. Best place IMHO. Vancouver and all surrounding suburbs of PDX really blow Quote
rbw1966 Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Milwaukie is not a bad place. Close proximity to Carver and Madrone (if Madrone ever gets opened). Faster access to Mt. Hood and Smith then Portland proper. Sellwood, Woodstock, Westmoreland are all great Portland neighborhoods close to Milwaukie. A bit further to Broughtons, Beacon and the Gorge. Quote
billcoe Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 Good call on staying on the east side. All the climbing and skiing is out that way (that is, if you don't head north to Washington Pass or Leavenworth). Â Where in Milwaukie Peter (Milwaukie has some big distances depending on which side you're on) ? Maybe we can give some specific recommendations. Â and what Joseph said: ring us when you get in and we'll pull some ligaments! Â Â Quote
