Raindawg Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 How do you know if I liked your opinion or not? Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. Maybe it has something to do with this: I know most of the board was very curious as to what you thought about their feat. We are lucky to have you here giving out your opinion so freely! I was paying you a compliment, sourpuss. I value your input. I bet you do! Quote
olyclimber Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Well, I didn't say how much I value it. Your right to express your opinion is a different matter. Quote
pink Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 has anybody who responded to this even climbed el cap. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Good question! Because you can't talk about it unless you've climbed it. I'm in the unauthorized camp. Quote
pink Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) kinda hard to dis it if ya haven't climbed. kinda hard to truly praise it if ya haven't climbed it? kinda like my incoherent lame ass self telling some english lit major that he is articulate. how the fuck would my stupid rockclimbing lame ass know. the lit major would probably laugh at my unwarranted comment. wayne Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 has anybody who responded to this even climbed el cap. Sure , But I dont want to distract from the Porter-Dawg exchange, very funny Quote
billcoe Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Avitrip and Benny climbed it in a day few months back. (West face) Quote
pink Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 very cool moving across so much steep terrain in such a sort period of time, incredibly mind blowing. the first time i did el cap in a push i said "wow" to myself for a week. Quote

Choada_Boy Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Dwayner's too busy working to climb The Nose: Quote
markd Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 i watched from the meadow and regardless what anyone says - it's an amazing feat; period! pink climbed SPACE. not many people can say they ventured up that part of el cap. Quote
Gary_Yngve Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I'm glad the Hubers have the record now. Hans Florine seems more like a speed athlete than a climber.. the Hubers are much more well-rounded with FAs, alpine, etc. Quote
TrogdortheBurninator Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 While the Huber's are arguably the better rounded climbers, Hans doesnt seem like a slouch to me: -Hans holds numerous solo and team speed records on many of Yosemite's classic big wall routes. One of three humans to solo "The Nose" in a day. First and only team of two, (or any number), to have climbed El Cap three times in a day and Half Dome twice in a day. One of eight persons to have climbed The Nose of El Cap and The Regular Route on Half Dome in a day. One of two people to climb alone Half Dome and El Cap in a day. Only person to climb El Capitan twice in a day, solo. Guided first and only blind person ascent of El Cap. 2003 set the speed record on all the legal 14,000 ft peaks in California. Ascended 20 of the classic rock and peak routes, from the "50 Classics of North America" book, in 20 days. Ascended fourteen of the California 14,000 ft peaks in under ten days. Hans has climbed over 60 routes of grade 5.13,(7C+), or higher, repeated one 5.14 and established one 5.14. Hans has also been over 21,500 ft on Acongauga, and over 17,000 feet on Shiveling. Quote
wayne Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 (edited) Slacker. I saw his show at REI last year. Interesting person. Felt bad for him though there were about 10 people there for the show. We dont take kindly to no speedy climb n these parts. Edited October 12, 2007 by wayne1112 Quote
pink Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 hans florine is a super nice guy with healthy competition in his blood. the hubers are cool to, but they are still euro-trash. Quote
