ericb Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Got a diaper service, and a maid for the first couple months, so a couple marks in the plus column.....the rest, well....time will tell. Quote
TREETOAD Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Going up to a friend's cabin at Snoqualmie tomorrow to experiment with some hallucinogenic molds I've been cultivating in my crisper. My wife will be on hand with a portable defibrillator and a paper grocery bag in case of hyperventilation. Then it's off to a BBQ in Tacoma sunday afternoon at my wife's friend's house; a chronic depressive who self published an vitriolic, loosely autobiographical novel about childhood abuse. Strangely, her anger at men does not seem to apply to me, despite my almost olympian ability to piss women off. It might have something to do with the fact that I enjoy her sour but genuine company. Sunday, it's off to Darrington with an undisclosed CCer to measure galvanic microcurrents in local granitic plutons for possible use as a sending power source. Hey man, I totally get this!!! Quote
sprocket Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Puget has it right: if you are following a rope gun, have not done a lot at Index, and if your target range is 5.10, I'd go for Davis Holland / Lovin' Arms and take it from there. It faces the morning sun, so it'll heat up early on a hot day and an early start might be a good idea - even if the first pitch still has moisture on it when you get there. Once you are done with that, some of the choices lower down will fall into shade. We have a ropegun and probably 3 others, 2 of which will probably be more comfortable following 5.6-5.8 so 5.10 multi-pitch stuff is out. Will probably stick to single-pitch stuff that has relatively easy to access. I'm the only one that's been there before and that was 2 years ago and limited to multiple variations of GNS and Taurus. Davis-Holland does sound sweet though. Quote

No matter, enjoy it. If you are the dad, then take the first week off, and then every Friday off for the next 4 to 6 weeks depending on how much time you have. Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Go to Gorilla My Dreams and Timberjack above GNS. Just hike up the little trail from the anchor in the trees. They are worth the extra 2 minute hike and usually don't get any traffic. I think Timberjack is 3 stars and same with GMD. God I love index. Quote

EWolfe Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 My how they change... Let's see, put up a bunch of new climbs on a virgin 300 foot sandstone cliff On the agenda: the doc has a badass 12d and 5 feet away is my .11+/.12- pulling a bulge on amazing softball-shaped holds. I have spent at least part of 5 out of 7 days of the last week there. I fixed a bottle of wine with a shitty 1/4" bolt just at sipping level at the base of the new wall. Jesus, rapping 200 feet of vertical sandstone on a single static with multiple roofs (just to set anchors) and serious ab-pump from all the airtime took some getting used to, and at 7000' too. I'm OK with it now, damn I am going to be in good shape for the tetons in 2 months... La Vie! Erik Quote

I went to a couple of sites because I'm bored at work to check out the climbs that have been recommended, almost everyone reporting gave the routes a full grade higher on the climbs, I'm sure it will be eye opening but fun.
