RuMR Posted November 27, 2006 Author Posted November 27, 2006 yup...just goes to show that those portland folks are just plain nasty and gross... Quote
StreetBoss Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Dude - the climbing gym is a gross place. You seen folks putting their stinky ass feet all over the place. Just plain gross. Then they take their climbng shoes off and rub their feet and try to shake your hand. Uggg Quote
mountainmatt Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I always make sure to wash my hands really well before I leave the rock gym. Everytime I don't, I seem to get sick. Quote
catbirdseat Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Do everyone a favor and wash you hands both BEFORE and AFTER you climb in the gym or use the lavatory. Quote
plexus Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 "Wow Ryan you really seem to be climbing really well tonight. What's your secret?" Â "Oh, I just took a page out of Moises Alou's playbook. I just piss on my hands before I climb a route." Quote
G-spotter Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 I think the spider that was biting that guy was a "barking spider". Quote
Dechristo Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 usually you can smell 'em when they're close. Â excepting my barking spiders are odorless Quote
RuMR Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 Do everyone a favor and wash you hands both BEFORE and AFTER you climb in the gym or use the lavatory. thanks mom! Quote
Dechristo Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Defeat CA-MRSA. Climb in a body glove. Quote
wayne Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 One of the unheralded risks associated with the gyms that have pea gravel for landing pads: Silica dust is realeased en massa into the air. Silica has been called the "new" Asbestos for lung disease and carcinoma. Fun Quote
Maestro Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Didja see that guy sneeze all over the holds on that route just before you climbed it? And right afterwards you rubbed the sweat outa your eyes and ate some candy, right? Quote

catbirdseat Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Stone Gardens plans to do away with pea gravel and go with foam. It will be much more hygienic, but I predict more sprained ankles. Quote
rbw1966 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 yup...just goes to show that those portland folks are just plain nasty and gross... Â Your reading comprehension needs some work. Joseph was NOT the original poster, he was cross-posting for someone else. If you read the entire thread you'll note that the original poster chimed in--and she is in Boston. Â Not that gyms aren't nasty of course. Quote
Maestro Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Stone Gardens plans to do away with pea gravel and go with foam. It will be much more hygienic, but I predict more sprained ankles. Edgeworks in Tacoma used to have the pea gravel and changed over to foam a few months ago. I think most everyone approves of the change. It was really dusty with the gravel and all the boulderers had gravel patterns imprinted on their butts! (I was going to put the mooning emoticon there, but it seems to have been done away with!) RuMR Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 you can go look at my pic for a moon! Quote
gertlush Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 This is all very disgusting but the gym is still my best chance of meeting a sober woman so I'm gonna keep goin no matter what... Quote
RuMR Posted November 29, 2006 Author Posted November 29, 2006 why do you wanna meet one who's sober? Quote
gertlush Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 That's a good point actually...ok that settles it then, I'm never going to the gym again. Quote
chase986 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 shut up and climb, you sound like a bunch of bitches Quote
kevbone Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 shut up and climb, you sound like a bunch of bitches  I’m going to have to agree with this poster. STFU and climb. Jesus you all sound like a bunch of silly wanking beyoches. Gyms help with training, and as much bitching is done on this silly nilly RuMr thread, YOU ALL GO TO THE GYM AND CLIMB. Quote
StreetBoss Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Yes we all go to the gym, however you dont have to be a disgusting pig. How many times have climbers gone to the bathroom and NOT washed their hands? I see every time I go. Gross. Stop touching your stinky feet. The gym is a training facility not your living room. Quote
