Jens Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Since I relocated to Ballard I have to find a new auto mechaninc. Finding a good, cheap, and honest car mechanic is hard to do. Anybody know anybody real honest that works on American Cars? I'm also thinking cheap. I'm in ballard but would also be interested in crown hill, freemont, greenwood, or wallingford. Please Help. I'll buy you a beer if it pans out for me! Quote
slothrop Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Keep us posted. I've got a good mechanic in Cap Hill, but it's a bit far now that I live in the 'Lard. Quote
tanstaafl Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Jens, the guy at Ballard Muffler treated me right. In fact I'm going back now that the down pipe separated from the catalytic converter over in City of Rocks. That was a long, loud drive home. Quote
AlpineK Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I had Ballard Muffler install a muffler on my International Cornbinder. They did a great job. On a regular basis I use Fleury's (20th and Leary). They've done mechanical work on all my trucks and they did all the mechanics for the company I used to work for. Quote
MarkMcJizzy Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Hey AlpineK: Â Remember that red truck you used to have? That sure was a piece of shit, dumbshit. Quote
MarkMcJizzy Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 And you sure were a dumbshit for buying it Buy your former boss was even dumber for $pending ton$ to fix it up. Quote

I'll buy you a beer if it pans out for me! The mech's at Gilmours are absolutely awesome. They are not cheap though. But you can go in and talk with them and they will only work on exactly what you want them to. They are totally knowledgeable and straightforward. Folks (myself included) trust them with classics, showcars, project cars and the like. I bring my regular old truck to them too--I figure if I trust my show car to them, I trust my truck to them. they are on 15th and 70ish. It's worth a chat with them even if you decide thier labor is too expensive. Quote
olyclimber Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 well, my only requirement is that there is a coffee house right near the shop so that I can order a double half caff low whip frappacino and shop for shoes online while the grease monkeys fix my lexus Quote
