AlpineK Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Better get Mr Lahey and Randy to rescue that beaver. Quote
jordop Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Mr Lahey and Randy don't know much about beavers actually You'd best talk to Ricky or Julian about pelt Quote
AlpineK Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Well whatever all I know is that show is the best thing I've ever seen on tv. I just finished season 3. I can't wait to get 4 and 5 Quote
jordop Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Really , I don't get it. Sure Trinity's only eight years old which "technically" is too young to drive a car, but it was MY open liquor in the car, so, really, I should get the ticket. And besides, she was just going down to get me some chips. But, y'know, maybe this will be good for her. Teach her a lesson. That's what happened to me. I broke the law, went to jail and learned my lesson. That's why I'm such a great father Quote
AlpineK Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Well if it ain't Gut Cassidy and the Sundance Cheeseburger. Quote
Mos_Chillin Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Beavers carry pestilence and are considered MAJOR vermin in many states. You people are SO kind out here in the West to brother beaver. Quote
mattp Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Plenty of people around here consider beaver to be vermin. The problem is, if you have a good place for them, you'll have a hard time getting rid of them and their idea of a good time may not be your own. (They like to topple trees and cause flooding and stuff like that where you may not want it. For example, do you have a culvert under your driveway? That makes a perfect dam.) Having never had a yard/farm/woodlot in an affected area myself, I think they are cool animals. Ever been out in a boat out behind Husky Stadium in what was previously known as "Garbage Bay?" The little guys are ripping it up right here damn near in downtown Seatown. When they smack the water with their tail and take a dive, it is very cool! Quote
cj001f Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Beaver tastes good (and I'm talking about the one with the big flat tail). In Chile last year a restaraunt owner asked some Canadian friends "you are from Canada, do you eat beaver alot?" His girlfriend turned red, he stuttered that no, they really don't eat the animal in Canada Quote
magellan Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Natural Resources officers suspect the beaver was working hard, got tired, had a nap, and then got trapped when the temperature dropped overnight. With no obvious injuries, the beaver is back to being busy again. Quote
stinkyclimber Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Likely postscript to the story: "Two weeks after a multi-department rescue effort involving police and fire fighters and MNR, the frozen beaver's dam was blown up by a flooded out farmer and then shot by a group of drunk snowmobilers and its pelt sold on the fur market." Life sucks for beavers in eastern Ontario and Quebec. Quote

olyclimber Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 maybe she turned red because that was a good part of her own diet. Quote
Dechristo Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 better than she think it was a bad part of her diet. Quote

cj001f Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Beaver tastes good (and I'm talking about the one with the big split tail). You can season the split tailed ones if they don't taste good Quote
TREETOAD Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Finally someone is talking about something really important!! Whether you are talking about the butterfly flick or the plain old long deep tongue method you cannot beat a long and arduous session of dining at the Y. The view from down there cannot be beat and the reciprocal rewards are a delight. Apart from severe carpet burn on your chin I see no downside. Quote
