Necronomicon Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 How many hours does it take to reach the base of the S. Face(?) route (the 5.9+ crack system) from the Alpine Lakes Trailhead? Thnaks, -J Quote
erik Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 3 HOURS 47 MINUTES...WITH A DAY PACK...1 QUART OF WATER...1 SET OF BD CAMS AND 1 50M ROPE OOPS THAT COLCHUCK.... I DUNNO I HATE THE OTHER TRAIL Quote
Necronomicon Posted September 5, 2002 Author Posted September 5, 2002 I'd never deliberately ASCEND from Colchuck Lake to Ass Guard pass. Talk about a bag chew... Quote
priapism Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 With daypacks moving at a fairly good pace, roughly 5 hours from the car to the base of the first pitch. With overnight gear or a more leisurely pace, add accordingly. Quote
priapism Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 This being for the Snow Lakes approach, which is definately the better of the two this time of year. Quote
rbw1966 Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 Priapism (spinal injury?) is right about spot on. Took us a little less than 5 hours a couple of weeks ago. We only took about 5 cams and a set of stoppers though. Oops--that was for the west ridge. YMMV. Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 5 hours maximum with overnight gear. Knowing your reputation I would say 4.5 hours. [ 09-05-2002, 03:15 PM: Message edited by: Cpt.Caveman ] Quote

texplorer Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 You'll be eaten by Cougars so the time is arbitrary. Quote
dr._jay Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 but more commonly as a complication of sickle cell disease, or even a malfunctioning penis pump. Quote
layton Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 You got to live up to your reputation dicklicker. 4.5 hours. I'm bringing my alpine partner gun to make sure. Quote
layton Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Oh, an alpine partner gun and a rope gun are not the same thing. An alpine partner gun is to force your partner into doing what you want, especially if he/she is being a total pussy. Can also be used on yourself in case of unpleasant bivy, hike out, descent, etc... Very very useful. Although not as useful as a ropegun. Does black diamond sell those? Quote
Necronomicon Posted September 6, 2002 Author Posted September 6, 2002 I didn't even know I had a reputation. Truthfully, I'm a fucking slob... Quote
