minx Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 i think i'm the only person under the age of 55 that doesn't like pink floyd Quote
ChrisT Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 makes two of us sister. (even my kids like Pink Floyd! ) Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 Thats because you proabbly think that The Wall is Pink Floyd! By the way if you are 55 today you were only 19/20 when the show happened. Quote
minx Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 thankfully i'm not 55. just making a broad sweeping statement b/c we all know that's the best way for an open thoughtful discussion to occur. nope, i don't think pink floyd is just the wall. i just don't like them. Quote
cj001f Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Of course there's Pink floyd, and then there's Pink Floyd Quote
chesterboo Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Pink Floyd is the best! I saw them in London in 1992 (minus Waters). I am going to see the Australian Pink Floyd tribute band on Nov. 14 at McCaw Hall in Seattle. You should check out their website if you have never heard of them. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I've heard of Pink Floyd before. I haven't been to their website, though. Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 The Wall does suck. Dark Side, Wish You Were Here and Animals are ok. Atom Heart Mother, A Nice Pair and other old stuff is the best. Quote
underworld Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 what if you liked The Wall BEFORE it was cool? Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 Yikes I should have noted I recieved two PMs awhile ago. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 if you're distributing legal copies, then you can just direct them to the further network or etree.org where it might be available Quote
Peter_Puget Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 (edited) LOL these are radio broadcasts distributed to my friends! Edited October 17, 2005 by Peter_Puget Quote
Alex Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I disagree, Syd Barret Floyd wasnt that interesting musically, Pink Floyd really only came into their own starting with Atom Heart Mother and then later albums from 73-81 (Final Cut is still one of my favs), but the stuff that is called "Pink Floyd" post 1981 is nothing but David Gilmour solo stuff re-packaged with the two other original band members. In their most recent album I heard some hints of retro pre-breakup floyd, but still mostly idle Gilmour stuff. Quote
layton Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 I've got that show on tape Peter Puget, it rocks. Quote
EWolfe Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 I had a cool "Animals" screensaver you can download for free from their site. All the "baaaaaa"-ing reminded me of this weird trip with Bob, and sights I would rather not think about... Quote
