roboboy Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 never attempt a "final Note" on cc.com. too many software workers in seattle with 40 hr/week internet access and idle time between coffee breaks and team meetings and the thread is guaranteed for a minimum additional 3 weeks. Quote
olyclimber Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 really, really good job on that climb. i mean it. Quote
selkirk Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 really, really good job on that climb. i mean it. Â I think someone is trying to brown nose they're way onto the next Mox Peak expedition Quote

klenke Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 you might know him by his other name on Broadway: olystroker. Quote
selkirk Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I don't climb. I just congratulate others on their climbs. Â That explains soo much. Â So... got any cheap gear your willing to give away since you don't climb? Quote
olyclimber Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 no, sorry, all my gear is top drawer stuff. anyways, back to discussing Erik, Mike, and their amazing climb. Quote
Blake Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Save the Devils Club Ok, where do you live? We'll transplant it to your place! Â Talk to Doxey about that. Quote
skykilo Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Why do you care that a ranger took issue with your machete and fire? Isn't that her job? Who gives a rat's ass? Â You had your spray. Everyone congratulates you. It's just a little criticism; take it like a man. Quote
ashw_justin Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 That is just so cool. my next ski trip will involve machetes. Quote
roboboy Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 devil's club can actually be cultivated at sea level and is a desirable ornamental plant, producing an impresive floral display in the spring. all my books on northwest native plant gardening include it. if anyone wants to retrieve some I'll be glad to take it, to supplement the alder, vine maple, salal, alaska cedar, willow, oregon grape, etc I already have. And no way am I telling which national parks I got them from. Maybe we need a gardening forum on cc.com, something we can ease into in a few years when the mox thread runs it's course. Quote
cj001f Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 That is just so cool. my next ski trip will involve machetes. I've found in beater yardsale falls ski edges give a great approximation. Quote
roboboy Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 money-making scheme #2: if the movie script doesn't translate too well to the big screen & bruce willis won't work cheap enough, how about this - sell live specimens of devils club transplanted directly from perry creek on ebay along with signed copies of the original trip report. it's sure to be a big seller with lovers of american culture worldwide - "ah doz cwazy amewicans - first it's macdonalds, then clint eastwood, now this !" you might also stock some gift ships in tourist meccas like leavenworth, seattle center, disneyland, etc. Quote
Dru Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I hope the next party to attempt this climb will turn it up a notch by going to the ACTUAL SUMMIT! Quote

EWolfe Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 We figured the sub-peak will erode enough by the time of the next ascent, that our high point WILL be the summit. Quote
