KaskadskyjKozak Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Former Hitler Youth. Right on!   And yet, in all probability, a better man than you. Probably. I let my Nazi party dues lapse once.   http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,153926,00.html  "In his memoirs, Ratzinger wrote that he was enrolled in the Nazi youth movement against his will when he was 14 in 1941, when membership was compulsory. He said he was soon let out because of his studies for the priesthood.  Two years later he was drafted into a Nazi anti-aircraft unit as a helper, a common task for teenage boys too young to be soldiers. A year later he was released, only to be sent to the Austrian-Hungarian border to construct tank barriers.  He deserted the German army in April 1945, in the final weeks of the war in Europe, and returned to Traunstein — a risky move, since deserters were shot on the spot if caught, or publicly hanged as examples to others." AlpineK Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Catbird, foot, mouth. Â That's nothing new. Â I heard the version of the new pope's life KK posted on NPR. Quote
cj001f Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I heard the version of the new pope's life KK posted on NPR. I was just following orders. The mark of a moral coward.  The french are cowards because they collaborated, the Germans get a free pass Or would it be different if he´d served on the Eastern front KK? Quote
cj001f Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 You're off the deep end. As a tab dropping hippy are you in touch with reality enough to point a finger? Quote
AlpineK Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 What the fuck are you talking about. Â You are the delusional guy in this case. The pope's father was anti nazi; the pope was forced to join hitler youth and the army. He deserted the army when he could. Â Not every German was for Hitler. Â I understand you don't like KK's politics, but you're acting like a fucking idiot in this case. Quote
jordop Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Why the fuck didn't they just elect Jacko to be Pope. Seems to me he'd fit the bill pretty good Quote

Ill go down a moron then. Deserting in April of 45 isnt when he could, its when there wasnt a German army! Quote
Squid Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 geez, the kid was 14! Cut him some slack. Â Still, he looks like Uncle Fester. Quote
Billygoat Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 He looks  Methinks the black smoke was a message from god. A warning...   If he was chosen by god through a bunch of voting cardinals (I didn't know god was democratic) then the black smoke surely must have been his work through the smoke making cardinal, right...?!   Quote
Harry_Pi Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Hello capitalist! I was hoping for Daniel Carver or Jessie Jackson or Dr. Laura. What's wrong with a KKK guy, negro, or jew anyway? Thank you for allow me to post. Quote
Double_E Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I was hoping for the Rev. Al Sharpton. Thank you allowing me to vote. Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Im an idiot because I believe a compulsory activity doesnt recuse you from the consequences of your actions? Â The guy was 6 when Hitler was elected chancellor and grew up in a totalitarian state. I guarantee you'd have been forced into the Hitler youth had you been born in Germany in 1927, so STFU. It's easy to moralize having been born and raised in a free country. You know nothing about tyranny and oppression. Â Ill go down a moron then. Deserting in April of 45 isnt when he could, its when there wasnt a German army! Â He was 18 you dumb ass. Although the German army was conscripting 12 year olds in Berlin, it was not doing so everywhere. The man was barely in service before he deserted. Â As for there being "no German army", you need to learn some history. Over 5 million german soldiers surrendered to the allies who were under Joedel's (sp) command. The Germans fought to the end - street by street, building by building in Berlin. Tens of thousands of Allied soldiers died in the 4+ months of fighting that took place in Europe in 1945. Quote
Double_E Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I celebrated the papal coronation by watching Exorcist -- The Beginning tonite. Quote

Jodl surrendered May 8th? 8 days make a world of difference But I suppose it´s all relative. He was young.  Meanwhile relativism, which is letting oneself be tossed and 'swept along by every wind of teaching,' looks like the only attitude acceptable to modern standards Quote
