catbirdseat Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Dryad will soon be moving to Boston to take a job with a big pharmaceutical firm. She'll be leaving either the first or second week in March. She deserves a proper send off. Her preference is non-smoking and with hard cider on tap in that order. Where shall we go to drink?
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 I'm to old for that shit. Called the Nickerson, they don't have cider on tap, however, a non smoking place is more important.
catbirdseat Posted February 18, 2005 Author Posted February 18, 2005 You are right, Dave. The cider thing is just a "nice to have".
AlpineK Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 Maybe ya'll are putting words in Dryads mouth...maybe she likes cider more than a smoke free environment.
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I vote for Nickerson at the south end of the Fremont Bridge.
wayne Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I vote for figuring it out today so I can get to it after work, as long as I am ranting.........Why doesnt anyone go early? many times I have left a PC at 730 w/o any people showing by then
klenke Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Since this will be a send off PC for dryad, the Knickerson sounds like a good place to go. Will she lose her knickers at the Knickerson?
catbirdseat Posted February 22, 2005 Author Posted February 22, 2005 Nickerson is fine with me. Plenty of room for the folks and lots of parking.
specialed Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 The Nickerson is so boring. Why don't you kooks dream up something better. There's tons of good pubs on Greenwood. Old Town tavern in Ballard? The Sloop? The Lockspot? The Belguin Beer place on Cap Hill? The Roanoke? The Big Time in U District? Etc. Etc.
AlpineK Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 I don't have a problem with the Nickerson this time. Sped is right though in the big picture. There are other places out there. Unfortunately a lot of the places that I think have more charactor also allow smoking, which means you've gotta have the energy to fight online with the Pub Club dictator (Dave Schultz). There was a Pub Club at that Belguin place back a few weeks ago...not very many showed up.
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Non smoking was for Dryad. Mickerson it is. Sped, there's always nest week.
chelle Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Clinicals are over. See you at the Nickerson around 7ish.
SnowByrd Posted February 22, 2005 Posted February 22, 2005 Since this will be a send off PC for dryad, the Knickerson sounds like a good place to go. Will she lose her knickers at the Knickerson? She doesn't wear knickers, Klenke. Does the Nickerson have cider? Kewl thing about the Nickerson is that its close to alot of other places if people get bored. What time will Dryad be arriving?
dryad Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 I'll be arriving whenever my designated driver comes to pick me up. CBS?
klenke Posted February 23, 2005 Posted February 23, 2005 "Kewl thing about the Nickerson is that its close to alot of other places if people get bored." That is true. Could walk across the Fremont Bridge to other bars (and hurl over the side on the way, if need be). However, the last PC we had there (for Ken4ord send off) was actually quite good. And Chelle, your clinicals aren't over. Don't you know all of us PCers are clinically insane? Well, me anyway. And Schuldty. And catbirdshit. And frankly mattp too. Yeah, especially matt. That guys positively cuckoo. Nickerson is at 318 Nickerson Street (right at Fremont Bridge's south end):

catbirdseat Posted February 23, 2005 Author Posted February 23, 2005 How could anyone get bored in the presence of the lovely dryad?
catbirdseat Posted February 23, 2005 Author Posted February 23, 2005 Great turnout. I saw a lot of familiar faces as well as some new ones. Martin (MCash) has moved out to Auburn from Spokane. There was Elaine Maxwell and Peggy Goldman.
