catbirdseat Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 It was so nice on Pilchuck yesterday. The feeling of the sun's rays was incredibly welcome. Nice view up there. I met a guy at the trailhead who had just come off the mountain. I saw him again headed back up for a second go round with his family in tow. He said the weather was so nice he had to share it with them. Quote

olyclimber Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 What lenses are you using? Model #s? Quote
Distel32 Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 AF-S Nikkor 18-70mm 3.5-4.5G ED AF Nikkor 70-300mm 4-5.6D ED with a Nikon D70 Quote
olyclimber Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 I'm debating whether go to with an D70 or stay with my F4 and use a Nikon slide scanner that I will be able to use shortly. The I think the slide scanner will give me better quality...but you have to get the slides developed. Your pics definitely make it temping to just go with a D70! Quote
Distel32 Posted December 25, 2004 Author Posted December 25, 2004 I would just go with a d70. slide scanners are super pricey if you want high quality, and then you have to make prints from slides anyway which sucks. And getting everything developed adds up too, 10 rolls of slide film from a long trip....? I take tons of pictures, so for me there is no point in shooting film anymore, though I still do have my slr, haven't used it since I got my d70. Quote
Distel32 Posted December 28, 2004 Author Posted December 28, 2004 so you poor saps getting tired of my pictures yet? Quote

Jim Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Oh- hot of the press eh? I'm glad to see that this will take my Nikon film camera lenes (most). Still haven't made the jump to digital (except for work). Quote
Distel32 Posted December 28, 2004 Author Posted December 28, 2004 yeah not all the functions will be supported depending on the lenses, but almost all should. the new computer lenses are REALLY cool...and way too much money Quote
Pandora Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 so you poor saps getting tired of my pictures yet? Dude, not when you're dishing out the mountain porn! And wtf is up with that anyway? Boulder Boy Wonder in da Hillz?! Be still my beating heart! Quote
