selkirk Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Man, i'm getting screwed trying to listen to it online, keeps cutting out and buffering! Quote
dryad Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 At one point it sounded like they were arguing over who had more faith in god. Ugh, gag me with a pitchfork! Where's the projectile vomiting graemlin when we need one? Quote
willstrickland Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Bob Sheiffer is the worst moderator in history. But this pic pretty much sums up the debate: Â Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 15 minutes was all I could take. Same old shit. Quote
selkirk Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 He could be worse...... Could be a religous libertarian I guess Quote
Skeezix Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I had the same problem with the cut and buffer. How frustrating is that? Bush sounded like the moron he is. How about the extended hoot response?? Hooooooooo!!!! Quote
Mal_Con Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I missed the first one but is that dufus really the leader of the free world Quote
willstrickland Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Well, just like Cheney lied about Saddam on national tv, the Chimperor LIED tonight. Â From the debate: KERRY: Six months after he said Osama bin Laden must be caught dead or alive, this president was asked, "Where is Osama bin Laden?" He said, "I don't know. I don't really think about him very much. I'm not that concerned." Â BUSH: Gosh, I just don't think I ever said I'm not worried about Osama bin Laden. It's kind of one of those exaggerations. Â Whaaaaa??????!!!!!!! Are you sure about that Georgie? Because I seem to remember this: Â BUSH AT MARCH 13, 2002 Press Conference: "I don't know where he [bin Laden] is.You know, I just don't spend that much time on him... I truly am not that concerned about him." Quote

Gary_Yngve Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Bush was stumbling and fumbling and bumbling. And poking fun at himself for it. The sad thing is these actions endear him to a dangerously large portion of Americans. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Kerry used to be a prosecuter, and it showed. Bush was on the defensive the whole time. Quote
Jim Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I thought the moderator was the worst among the three debates. And why did he bother asking questions about faith and their wives? Please. Those questons had no place. There were a couple questions regarding foreign policy when the debate was suppose to be centered on domestic issues. And WTF!? Not one question on environmental issues, which is a stark contrast between the candidates. Quote
slothrop Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Yeah, I liked Gwen Iffil better as a moderator, she was a real hard-ass. Â I liked the faith question, though, since there always has been speculation about Bush following that little voice of God in his head, and Kerry hasn't had a chance to talk about his religion much. People do want to know what role faith has in these guys' decision-making. Quote
Ireneo_Funes Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Yeah, I thought Kerry's answer to the faith question was good, almost eloquent. But over all, a lackluster debate. Â I even dozed off a little bit at the end. Quote
marylou Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 In four debates, there was exactly one question about the environment. Â That's bullshit. Quote
Doug Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 And it didn't have to do with ownership of a Timber Company? Quote
willstrickland Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 So, there was speculation about Bush being wired for the first debate. I'm now thinking a back brace. Check out this pic from last night and tell me he isn't wearing something: Â Quote
iain Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 Â and check out the guy in the audience right by his back. Getting ready to dig into some lobster! Quote
Ricardo_Montalban Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 In four debates, there was exactly one question about the environment. Â That's bullshit. Â Indeed!! I understand that the war and the economy is on the forefront of most minds, but considering what this administration has done/is doing there should be a hell of a lot more concern! Quote
catbirdseat Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 So, there was speculation about Bush being wired for the first debate. I'm now thinking a back brace. Check out this pic from last night and tell me he isn't wearing something: Â It could very well be some form of armor plate. Quote
slothrop Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I think it's a metal brace to keep him from slouching and scowling. Did you notice how ramrod-straight Bush was trying to be in this third debate? Also makes a great antenna for receiving messages from Cheney deep in his underground lair. Â Body armor is not a bad idea... but the head is totally unprotected, so it would hardly be worth it. Quote
iain Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 but the head is totally unprotected, so it would hardly be worth it. as if any decision-making is being made up there. Quote
Ricardo_Montalban Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 it's the robotic stand-in bush. you can also tell by the non-human expressions and the ceaseless blinking Quote
