WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

11 days of skiing where you guys at??

It depends how you count the start of the season. If you consider the vernal equinox the start then I'm at 5 days.

1" of freshiez today!

hellno3d.gif not exactly something to brag about.

The date was September....

And I was just down in the Sierra. Kirkwood had all of the frontside open including sisters, before the 18" they got yesterday. The cascade resorts are in single digits pitty.gif

Whatever, the Sierras are essentially the same skiing as WA and you know it. a few good weeks, or even winters, does not make a permenant trend. The "powder" there is just like here, and the crap is just like the crap here. Personally I'll take less expensive prices as a lack of Californians and tourists.

Alpine Meados is really cool tho. Squaw is the most overrated place I have ever been however.

I can't comment on the long-term trends, but right now I need a snorkle. In the last 3 days there has been more than 5 feet of snow at Northstar. Even 2+ feet on the ground in Reno.

northstar's not the best place to ski, but i think 5 feet of freshies would make it okay. evils3d.gif

Northstar may not be the best place, but if it is the only place that you can get to or that has their lifts open, then it has to do. Hi Squaw today and agree that is somewhat overrated. But then we are supposed to get another 18+ inches tonight. w00t

Beats the hell out of what is falling (or not) back in the PNW. What did Hood get in the last 24 hours? 2 inches maybe? We have been getting that every hour or two. cantfocus.giffruit.giffruit.giffruit.gif

I've never skied in the Sierras, but it's starting to look like a really good idea this winter.

My bases needed a deep cleansing exfoliation.

drul 4ft was in 2 daze of snow. we've got a break now but after 9ft in a little over a week i think we are set u pretty nice.

not really concerned with trends or next season. cuz right now we've got more powder and more sunshine then washington.

all ski resorts are overrated. the only good two in the area or sugarbowl and kirkwood.

enjoy the rain!
