Gaper_Jeffy Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 11 days of skiing where you guys at?? It depends how you count the start of the season. If you consider the vernal equinox the start then I'm at 5 days. Quote
larrythellama Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 recrystalized fluff at 12k. the days keep adding up! Quote

swaterfall Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 recrystalized fluff at 12k. the days keep adding up! WTF are you spraying for? Check the Silverton thread... even that is so two fronts ago. Quote
cj001f Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 1" of freshiez today! not exactly something to brag about. The date was September.... And I was just down in the Sierra. Kirkwood had all of the frontside open including sisters, before the 18" they got yesterday. The cascade resorts are in single digits Quote
larrythellama Posted January 1, 2005 Author Posted January 1, 2005 the snow refuses to stop! 4ft and counting!! Quote
chelle Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Just wait until La Nina next year. You'll be high & dry. Enjoy the freshiez. I'm jealous. Quote
JoshK Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Whatever, the Sierras are essentially the same skiing as WA and you know it. a few good weeks, or even winters, does not make a permenant trend. The "powder" there is just like here, and the crap is just like the crap here. Personally I'll take less expensive prices as a lack of Californians and tourists. Alpine Meados is really cool tho. Squaw is the most overrated place I have ever been however. Quote

Ducknut Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I can't comment on the long-term trends, but right now I need a snorkle. In the last 3 days there has been more than 5 feet of snow at Northstar. Even 2+ feet on the ground in Reno. Quote
bobbyperu Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 yeah larry!!!!!! nevermind the haters, you guys picked the right place at the right time and of all the people i know, you 2 have got to be the most stoked! live it up!!!! i know i want what you got right now....figuratively of course Quote
thelawgoddess Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 northstar's not the best place to ski, but i think 5 feet of freshies would make it okay. Quote
Ducknut Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 northstar's not the best place to ski, but i think 5 feet of freshies would make it okay. Northstar may not be the best place, but if it is the only place that you can get to or that has their lifts open, then it has to do. Hi Squaw today and agree that is somewhat overrated. But then we are supposed to get another 18+ inches tonight. w00t Beats the hell out of what is falling (or not) back in the PNW. What did Hood get in the last 24 hours? 2 inches maybe? We have been getting that every hour or two. Quote
AlpineK Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 I've never skied in the Sierras, but it's starting to look like a really good idea this winter. Quote

larrythellama Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 drul 4ft was in 2 daze of snow. we've got a break now but after 9ft in a little over a week i think we are set u pretty nice. not really concerned with trends or next season. cuz right now we've got more powder and more sunshine then washington. all ski resorts are overrated. the only good two in the area or sugarbowl and kirkwood. enjoy the rain!
