Stemalot Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 (edited) Climb: Stonerabbit Peak-Southeast Face Date of Climb: 8/1/2004 Trip Report: What do you call 1,200+ meters of bush free, loose rock free, and lichen free big wide open slab scrambling? Base of Stonerabbit's southeast face. Go ahead...scramble and climb straight up! Reinhard going solo. 1000 meters of air from the summit of Stonerabbit A little summit bouldering on the Rabbit. We called our route Rabbit's Coat. Gear Notes: Food, water, rock shoes, and tranquilizer if you get nervous on big slabby face. Approach Notes: Chehalis FSR, Skwellepil road Edited July 19, 2011 by jon Quote
jordop Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 This photo is unreal though I wonder how high the SE face is? 1200m? Really? It is only 800m from the end of the road to the summit and that can't ALL be slab Did you find out where the other route Reinhardt did is located? Or is he amnesic Quote
Dru Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 i can just see the top of one of "my" cutblocks next to that guy's foot Quote
Stemalot Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 hum...I should really change the post. the face is NOT 1200 meters. it's about half of that. I should have stated more clearly that the drainage approach itself is all on slab all the way to the base of the face. I apologize for not being clear on this. Quote
Stemalot Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 ...in the process of clearing up the history of this area... Quote
dberdinka Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 So if you can get up the road (got some mileage to the start? or is it kilometerage?) is this one of those climbs with effectively zero approach? You're just on slabs from the car? Looks sweet! Quote
Dru Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 ...from the TRUCK. it would be a long walk up the road from the car Quote
Stemalot Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 from where we parked our Jeep, we were able to follow the logging road then follow a rocky creek bed and get on the drainage slab...all about 1 km maybe less. like I said...NO BUSH! Quote
pinner Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Egads! What's happened to the 'unreal' photo? I love this TR and me want stoke back! Quote
Off_White Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 A fine example of why your TR photos should be hosted here on CC.com, offsite photo hosting is always sketchy in the long term. In this case Stemalot hasn't posted since May 2010 and who knows if he'll get this message, correct the links, or even climbs any more? Folks, there is no limit on the number of photos you host here, and you can post them anywhere, so wise up. Quote
Tyson.g Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 All good points Off, but the photo upload process here is often slow, confusing and dysfunctional. Come to think of it so am I. Tyson Quote
G-spotter Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 who knows if he'll get this message, correct the links, or even climbs any more? the things that a steady supply of pussy and a move to squamish will do to a man Quote
Off_White Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 All good points Off, but the photo upload process here is often slow, confusing and dysfunctional. Come to think of it so am I. Tyson I haven't had any problems with the upload process, but it seems I've heard others have. I'll kick it upstairs to the folks with their hands in the guts of the site, perhaps they can figure out something more dependable or intuitive. G-Spotter, I don't know the fellow so I just can't be as up close and personal as you are. Perhaps you'd nudge him and let him know his fans want to see the pics that were in his TR? I'm sure many would appreciate it. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 most of them are on his flickr, same user name. Quote
Sol Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 i've got tr's on the back burner because I want to post them on cc but it's way harder than my blog... Quote
