Off_White
Ummm, maybe you need to work more? Â Really, I suppose it depends on what your level of obsession has been lately. There is more to life than climbing, so maybe you just need to attend to some of the other things that make your heart sing.
sexual_chocolate
Well i kinda suck, but i'm pretty good too, so i don't know.... maybe you inadvertently make a good point though, that i've somehow begun to think of climbing only in terms of improvement, which seems to often sap my psych and inspiration. ahh yes, return to movement, apart from "accomplishment". That might be one thing.... Â I don't know what to say about the work thing.... Â but no, my heart hasn't been singing enough lately! Maybe it's time to teach it some new tunes.... sexual_chocolate
true dat. good advice, cuz i get a lot of joy in sharing what i do, and i haven't been doing that lately. Â but i've also been a bit injured lately, so that might be at least a part of it there, although I go through these moments sans injury too, so.... Â but thanks for the input! sk
Go on a free soloing binge. Works for me. thats because you are freaking INSAIN Â Muffy's new motto wich I just decided to steal " I live to climb, I climb to have beers with friends"
badvoodoo
If applicable, a change in climbing venue is always good. Even outside of climbing, a visit to someplace completely new always recharges me, because it takes me outside my element and shows me things I had ignored or was unaware of. DID some one just say ROAD TRP????? Â Â honestly sexy, I think you may have a case of the end of winter blahs... I get that every year, all restless and yucky, I think I hate to climb, that I can't climb that everything sucks and then it warms up outside and I get to play outside in the sun and it seems to get better. Â to you and to be rrealy cheesy and lame (but this is what mustang sally always tells me when I am all weepy and being lame) BE EXCELLENT TO YOUR SELF Edited March 19, 2004 by Muffy_The_Wanker_Sprayer
minx
so don't climb for a while? Â if you miss it enough you'll get inspired and start again and enjoy it again. Â if you don't, you'll find a new obsession and find great pleasure in partaking of it.
Winter
start hanging out at the mall and watching tv.  or  get dumped, get fired and get evicted.  both sure fire ways to find immediate inspiration for risk taking. j_b
i've somehow begun to think of climbing only in terms of improvement, which seems to often sap my psych and inspiration. Â this is probably one of the most common reason for burnout. when it happens to me, i find that long alpine moderates are the best cure.
