scott_harpell Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 badass! I remember the first time i met him. He was painting his toenails pink at schurman. Very few guys can get away with that. Quote
Blake Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 Yeah, but they had tyler Hamilton! (and a bunch of other Mountain folks, that CC skier seems pretty hardcore) Quote
JoshK Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 10 JEREMY JONES Big Mountain Snowboarder • 28 • Truckee, California .... "A lot of people think I've got a death wish," Jones says. "But I can read where that avalanche is going to go and I flirt with it." .... Hmm, we'll see how long somebody who claims "he can read the avalanche" will last... Quote
Mtguide Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 (edited) Yep; there's tough, and then there's stupid.Any avalanche I've ever seen doesn't give you much time to "read" fuckall. Edited February 9, 2004 by Mtguide Quote

girlclimber Posted February 9, 2004 Posted February 9, 2004 ...He was painting his toenails pink at schurman. dude that is way too cool! now if only he would take note of all the women who admire guys in skirts posting on the "MisterE=Bellingham Cross-dresser of the Month" thread... Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 My favorite line 25 Hillary Clinton Is there anyone who doubts that the toughest penalty Bill paid for the Monica scandal was at home? Good to see John McCain and Tyler Hamilton. Quote
chelle Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Josh. You flirt with danger and sometimes it bites you on the ass. There's no winning that debate because when it happens you'll say "See, I told you..." and until then "Wait and see, it'll happen." I'm pretty sure he's the guy who snowboarded the cable route on half dome and stuck it without going over the edge. That at a minimum deserves some respect, not your spray flicking attitude. Quote
ken4ord Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Jeremy Jones is way hardcore snowboarder. Beside Half Dome there a ton of other difficult first descent all over the place that he has done. I agree the quote is sort of stupid, but he definitely deserves respect for pulling off shit that most people can't even fathom. Quote
Dru Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Skiing and snowboarding from the summit is a dangerous activity with Jim Zellers making unsuccessful attempts over several years before making the first successful snowboard descent in 2000 Quote
thelawgoddess Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 nice, mike! and number 14 went to dean potter. Quote
chelle Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 So glad you have time to google Dru. I stand corrected. Quote
Mike_Gauthier Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 aint mensjournal for closeted gay men? wtf? see comment above 'bout pink toenails hey now dru... let's careful there... i'd like to see some third party photos to prove that i've been painting my toenails pink... don't make me get tuff... scott_harpell Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 I have better hommes. I have video of the event in question. Next time I am over the border, I will drop it off with a pub clubber. Quote
Mike_Gauthier Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 Hey Scott, I don't think Paris and Pamela will appreciate you sharing that video. Especially Paris, she's pretty upset since that last episode. After all the attention they've been getting, it will appear as though your profiteering off of their notoriety. Quote
mtn_mouse Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 Nice job Mike, great to see you get recognized. I was wondering if I know any other "tough" guys, and why not include Ted.... 1) Ted bicycles to the northwest territories with two months supplies in garbage bags, including a $20 raft, strapped to his bike. He reaches the Mackenzie river, inflates his raft, stows the garbage bags, and floats the river. The raft deflates mid stream several days later, he swims to shore abandoning the craft. 2) Ted successfully climbs Mt Rainier, only to take a graceful roped swan dive into the bergshrund on the emmons. Only a minor inconvenience! 3) Ted attempts an 86 mile one-day run through the Olympic mountains with two friends. Almost succeeds until his friend has a 'Giardia Attack" at mile 72. 4) While bicycling along a county road admiring a herd of elk, a cop car drives by too fast and strikes an elk. The elk totals the cop car and is thrown, sailing through the air, only to land on Ted as he is bicycling. Waking up in the hospital, he has yet another tough man story to tell! all true stories Quote
Rich_Sheffield Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 Yes ! But can Ted do counterclockwize swirles? and has he been to the summit of El Picacho Del Diablo ? both summits! Quote
