snoboy Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 I'm thinking more along these lines right now. Quote
ken4ord Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Must say I am thinking about both. Still want some more untracked powder lines, but I always think about Moab and desert riding out there. Moab rocks. Quote
rr666 Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 How has the snow been up at Stevens recently? I just got back from Utah, skiied Alta and Solitude. That snow was great Now I am planning on hitting Stevens this weekend, and I am hoping that it is decent, but I know coming from Utah it is going to feel like concrete... Quote
erik Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 those are not recent moab shots are they?? there is still some snow on the ground in the desert and the highs have been only around 40 at best. st george is your best bet for rock right now in utah...unless of course you like to be cold. Quote
ken4ord Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 rr666, I know the bc around Stevens has been great, but I haven't been up to the mountain recently so not sure what the conditions are up there. BP aka Mr. Peru aka hiphop miester, whadup, if you read this can you give us an update, a low down on the up high? Quote

ken4ord Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Dood you missed Amasaback and the Portal trails. Those trails are my second and third favorite trails after Poison Spider. At some point I have to go later in the spring or early summer and do shuttle from the La Sal to Poison Spider. It comes out to be about 30+ miles of mainly downhill riding. The trail out of the La Sal's has all kinds of dirt jumps and kickers. I saw pictures and the ride looks epic. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 i'm with snoboy and i only live 2 hours from moab. btw, i've heard the stevens bc has been rockin'. Quote
lummox Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 moab has gotten too trendy with the trustifarian sect. plus it is in utah. fuk it. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 i really don't get what the big deal is about that place. i could think of 50 other places i'd rather go spend some time. but if you like to bike around the same terrain for miles on end ... go for it. Quote
olyclimber Posted February 6, 2004 Posted February 6, 2004 Don't forget getting water at Matrimony Springs for your ride. Has anyone else been to Cable Arch? Last time I was there we camped in Moonflower canyon and some local got drunk and set fire to the entrance to the canyon by shooting off fireworks at about 2 in the morning. It jumped up to the rim and luckily went out before spreading too far(it was late May, and everything was super dry). The sheriff showed up, and you could smell the alchohol on his breath a mile away. That place might not be special for some people, but I have had some good times there. Thanks for the pics. Quote
