WELCOME TO THE CASCADECLIMBERS.COM FORUMS   02/03/18

We have upgraded to new forum software as of late last year, and it makes everything here so much better!  It is now much easier to do pretty much anything, including write Trip Reports, sell gear, schedule climbing related events, and more. There is a new reputation system that allows for positive contributors to be recognized,  it is possible to tag content with identifiers, drag and drop in images, and it is much easier to embed multimedia content from Youtube, Vimeo, and more.  In all, the site is much more user friendly, bug free, and feature rich!   Whether you're a new user or a grizzled cascadeclimbers.com veteran, we think you'll love the new forums. Enjoy!

Has CC.com changed the way you do things?

Recommended Posts

For example, as a result of my readings on CC.com I almost always use the EDK instead of the double fisherman's knot for joining two ropes for rappel.

After reading about Stefan's accident, if I am going to rap from a single sling, I always use a double fisherman's knot on the sling instead of a water knot.

I'll never wear shorts over polypro and always opt for Schoeller. Also I've bought a kit of manufacturers stickers for my helmet, which I leave on my pack. Next I make sure everyone in the group ridicules other groups in the wilderness, complaining that they are the problem. Last, I'll spray on any topic, cuz that's what the kewl folks do.

Hey, this is just my opinion. It's just semantics.

Oh, and not trusting a water knot for a sling? wtf.

A water knot is a good knot if tied correctly. If there is already one sling on the station and I am just backing it up, I'll use the water knot.

So you are saying that before you found cc.com you always wore shorts over polypro? In other words you've been saved from fashion oblivion.

enough of this shorts over polypro thing. yeah it looks bad but I could see it being functional. also, who cares what you look like out there. Not wearing shorts over poly to be fashionable is like arranging the deck chairs on the Titantic for a lot of you. hahaha.gif

Oh no, that would be terrible... rolleyes.gif

I've learned to always use an autoblock when I rap, takes like 15 extra seconds.

I'm kind of serious about this post. I want to hear about climbing procedures, otherwise I would have put it in spray.

your topic is inherently sprayful.... rolleyes.gif none of this 'serious replies only" BS.... anyway you haven't been climbing long enough to make a serious comparison of before and after cc.com have you? cause it is overwhelmingly "after" with like 5 days "before"? yellaf.gif

it is hard for me to point to anything cc.com has changed for me. i guess I don't tie the Canadian Death Knot anymore yelrotflmao.gif

Yeah, cc.com has made me into a useless employee, takes up all my time, and lets me piss off people who I don't know and probably will never know.

Talk about a boring thread. Holy shit! rolleyes.gifmoon.gif
