adventuregal
Is it worth spending a few hours on one of my last PNW days there?? I do love cheese, so....
Mr._Natural
gotta love the all you can eat bins, stay away from the curd. very handy if you havent eaten in a few days. might want to fiber load before and after. cheese
Ursa_Eagle
I'm a huge fan of the ice cream, and I liked the tour (lots of automation), but if it's one of your last PNW days, I'd prolly recommend some climbing. If you haven't really been to the coast yet, then it's another story (go to the cheese factory, do some hikes along the coast, hang out at the beach, etc.) Just some ideas... Few years ago, it was like $5.50 for the Baby Loaf (Baaaaabyyyyy Loooaaaaaffff), now it's like $7.50.   's not FAIR, DAMMIT!

Dr_Flash_Amazing
Tillamooks High's mascot is the Cheesemaker. How proud must a kid be to be able to inform people that they're one of the Fightin' Cheesemakers? Â

Ursa_Eagle
yeah, no free ice cream, but it *is* a large ice cream shop, with (I think) all the flavors they offer available in bowls, on cones, probably also in milkshakes (I almost said "frappes" for those New Englanders out there), etc. Good stuff. Â hmmm, now I want ice cream... when are you going?
iain
be sure to visit this house if you pass through the astoria area too...

Ursa_Eagle
"frappe" is Newenglandese (perhaps Bostonese?) for milkshake. I guess a milkshake back there doesn't have ice cream...
Dan_Harris
By all means stop in if you are driving through. It doesn't take long, maybe an hour. Good ice cream and interesting self guided tour. If you're on the coast and going through Florence and want good ice cream, stop at BJs (Leave it alone trask!!!) . Great ice cream there. jon
You assholes are making me hungry. Do you think the people working in the cafeteria will freak when they see me for the third time today with a plate full of cheese from the sandwich bar?
