Dr_Flash_Amazing
Saw 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' on Sunday. It was a kick in the pirate pants for sure. Johnny Depp stole the show as the Rob Zombie-meets-David Lee Roth-style Captain Jack Sparrow, and the swashbuckling action and CGI living dead skeleton pirates were first-rate. Pretty decent plot twists, too. A little corny, but all in all a great summer flick. Don't forget to sit through the incredibly long credits for the bonus at the very very end, too. Dr_Flash_Amazing
It was about five seconds of action involving the monkey, but DFA will stop there so it's not spoiled for anyone who hasn't seen it.

kitten
Depp was incredible. I am disappointed that I missed the ending as well. Guess I'll have to buy the DVD in 4 months for the bonus footage.

Off_White
The ship that played the "Interceptor" was actually the Lady Washington, based out of Aberdeen. Near as I can tell, it was the only real ship in the movie, the rest were sets and CGI. My son spent parts of three summers crewing on the Lady, so he was particularly keen on seeing this flick, and asserts that this was the best thing to happen to the ship in years, since they probably took care of the years worth of deferred maintainence that the financially troubled venture was unable to perform. It also appeared in the Star Trek movie that had the Kirk era cast on a sailing vessel at the start of the film.
