Hey, I know that guy in the middle! Oh, and WAKE UP, Kurt!!!
  2. Sweet. We are about 5 years behind you. Cant wait to take my two little ones on a more serious hike. They hiked the "grove of the patriarchs" this last weekend while camping at Mt. Rainier......very cool.By age 4 or 5 they can do stuff like Little Si, Rattlesnake Ledge, or even Lake 22. Start 'em young - bring snacks and drinks and they can do more than you'd think!Stephen's got it right. When my boy was 4, we took him on a hike up to Blue Lake near MSH. Two+ miles and 1700 VF of gain, and that little whippersnapper hiked every bit of it w/o so much as one complaint. Enjoyed the hell out of himself. Like the man said, snax and drinks and they can go almost forever. Here's the little blighter on his way up the trail:
  3. I find that little brunette extremely hawt! Don't know why. Must be that cute 'do and those big doe eyes...

  7. Not much climbering got done, but I did cure two cancers in one month: Cancer #1: Complete excision of 3 melanoma sites on my back and side. Cancer #2: My divorce was finalized.
  8. Kurt and Kurt, Guys, I know how to get to WA Pass. But you guys are missing the point. It's a she, not a he, that I'm meeting. Speed of arrival/directness of route is not the goal here. We want to "travel" together, get it...??? SCB, Good idea, thanks for the hint. So, any suggestions? Isn't there a truck stop at the eastern Cle Elum exit? Truckstops of America or sumpin like that? I don't recall...
  9. So I'm headed to WA Pass in a few weeks with a friend from the peninsula. We'll be meeting halfway; looks like Cle Elum. We want to drop one vehicle there and head to Mazama in the other car. Anyone know of a safe/secure place to leave my truck Friday night, so it will still have the glass in it when I get back on Sunday night? TIA.
  10. You will get your wish. He is taking a several year hiatus from performing. This is the last concert for a few years there IS a god. I must reform my atheist ways, dammit.
  11. And throw porta-potties over the cliff across the road...
  12. Somebody oughta charge him for bringing him out to the road. Well, charge his next of kin, at least...
  13. Me too. Between work, kids, and new GF, I'm just plain outta time. Is there no one who will step forward to continue this fine cc.com tradition?
  14. Her book, Infidel, was fabulous. I suggest that all of you give it a read. Time well spent.
  15. Well??? Haven't heard a peep from the usual suspects about this yet, and my calendar is filling up...

    GLIDE!!!!

That looks like them funky battledroid thingies from Attack of the Clones. Yo.
  18. Drive to Sandpoint, then north on US 95 towards Bonner's Ferry a few miles (10 or so??? - IIRC) to Pack River Road. Turn left and drive PRR (gravel/dirt) for about 15-20 miles to West Branch/ Chimney Rock Road. Follow WB Roadand turn left as you cross the Pack River. Stay right at every big junction from here for 2.5 miles on the most heavily traveled roads to the trailhead. Hike for 2.5 miles to the north face.
  19. Wow, you've tripled yer post count in just one morning! Yer on yer way! And welcome to our little slice of the interwebz! Nice to have ya here.
  20. The Great Arch is a great way to enter trad. Beautiful climb. My first slab lead was GA's neighbor, Mercury's Lead. Scared the f#$% out of me. Long lead with only two bolts between you and the anchor on P1, and old skewl 5.9 at that. Very thought-provoking runouts on that route. I think I sharted somewhere along the route. Still have my Dixie Crystals guidebook from 1983. Matriculated from the CE program in 1988, moved back out here in 1989. Been in the PNW ever since. Git yerseff out here, you won't regret it. PS: I live on the east side of the Cascades, in the Tri-Cities. I've also lived in Yakima, which is much closer to the mountains. I'd vote for an eastside relo. My $0.02
