  1. When would that be? Once the Offspring starts walking, there'll be hell to pay if'n you try to stick 'em in a playpen. These kinda things are only good until they figure out how to walk. That's about 14-16 months.
  2. EDIT: Luke, I have good news and bad news. First, the good news... It actually packs up to 10" x 10" x 32", so it should be just fine for the airline. Now the bad news... Fawker weighs an awesome 24 pounds! Maybe that's why my packs always seem so heavy when I think that they're so light... "Really, my pack only weighed 25 pounds for a week in the Northern Pickets. Really!"
  3. I would think it would be checkable. The thing is about the size of the average "home office" desk (28" wide x 40" long x 32" tall), and it folds up and collapses in upon itself to a prism of about 12" x 12" x 32" and weighs about 10-15 lbs. I could weigh it to get more precise if you wanted me to. And you're absolutely right on the "baby is an American citizen" thing; no probs there. I wish you good luck and all the speed in the world for getting Ariunaa through the paperwork jungle.
  4. Luke, Good on ya, Righteous, Congratulations, and all that! I hope all goes well for you regarding bringing your wife-to-be through INS/CIS/whatevertheywannacallthemselvesthisweek and the birth of your wonderful offspring! While I have no experience bringing wives of foreign nationality into the US, my wife and I do have experience of bringing in kids (two, now). They aren't citizens until they clear the INS/CIS hurdle at the port of entry airport. While it should be a piece of cake to get your baby in country, I really wish you well (and a whole LOT of patience!) in getting Ariunaa in country. Again, great news!!! PS: I have a hardly-used Pack-N-Play fold-up portable playpen. Great for before they learn to walk. Stick 'em in it, go pebble-wrestling! What could be sweeter? It yours if you can figger a way for your Pop to get it there.

    Find the Dru

His face and hands are pasty white, the rest of the "visible" him is not. Ergo, a flesh-tone long john suit.

    Find the Dru

    I think he just "scratched"...

    Find the Dru

He's not naked, that's a flesh-tone long john suit. Where is your sense of Haute couture?
  8. In no particular order of hits: WSDOT (for work) TIB (again, for work) cc.com (for work -errr, I mean, for fun) GESA (for banking) IMDb (for fun)
  9. Lord knows, the cancer research field could use more miniature-car replicators to further their studies. Clearly, I speak too sublimely for the intellectual capacity of a beta unit. That's why I'm an alpha. Maybe you should change your avatar to this...
  10. WOW! While I must appreciate this guy's creative genius and attention to detail, it's clear to me that he's got a lot of time on his hands. I wonder if his talents might be better applied to cancer research or something...
  11. I'd echo the comments on the Grand Tit, the Winds, and City of Rocks. Consider also Elephant's Perch for a few days. Consider also the seldom-visited granite of the Selkirks in the Idaho panhandle (way north), and around McCall, further south. You asked: "...where would you go?" If I had that kinda time and wanted to do this "on the cheap", I'd stick to Idaho and start in the Selkirks north of Sandpoint for moderate alpine cragging, then head south and do some sporto routes along the way in Post Falls, CDA, Spokane (maybe). Then on to Grangeville for a few days (for alpine craggin' on the sweet granite of the Lightning Dome and environs), and then head on down to Riggins for some more sporto routes on the limestone near Hell's Canyon Dam and in the Salmon River canyon. Then head further south to McCall for some more alpine craggin' on more sweet granite in the Payette NF. Then hit some stuff in the Sawtooths near Stanley, picking up the Elephant's Perch as you move toward Ketchum/Sun Valley, and finish up in the City of Rocks. I would take about a month. If I had that kinda time...
  12. I want to see her ass Here ya go, Toast...
  13. I'd have to agree with Lord Vader. And really, how many of any of the routes on WW get repeated? Hey Pax, what's the record around here for reviving a dead thread? This one was like, what, almost four years in the grave?
  14. I think we're on pretty steady ground here, though...
  15. allison/marylou is right... ice dancing is dumb. If I watch it, it is with about the same level of enthusiam, and for much the same reasons, that I peruse my wife's Victoria Secret catalogs...
  16. Nice vid, especially the "BASE-cam" shot. Could use a better soundtrack, though... rap music is an oxymoron.
  17. If brutal cold is the concern, you could always take to cooking in the tent. That's always a real crowdpleaser... ...I speak from personal experience...

    male or female?

Wow, I'm sure glad I'm not surfin' the meat markets these days... I "scored" 10 out of 16 on the femaleorshemale quiz. That's like a "D-"
  19. I don't know what it is, but this is one of the funniest threads I've read in a while. Duck and cover! Squid + wfinley = bumbling explosives "experts"

    male or female?

Of course I do... it's Alice. Herbert! Right, 'erbert...
  21. ...or a hot cup of it, too... (my apologies to whomever on this board I stole this pic from )
  22. OK, someone with a pic of oly's head and mad PhotoShop skilz can take over from here...
  23. Granite in the Dry-Shitties? Surely you jest, Kurt. Those boulders are in Renton, near a school... jvesquire: The Oklahoma Dustbowl of Washington is frought with nothing but friable, chossy basalt, period. If that's your cup o' tea, then bust a law and go pebble wrestling at Two Sisters on the Columbia River, on SR 730 just west of the Wallula Gap. Now, be aware that some old survivalist asshole (adjacent property owner) got his panties in a twist about 5 years ago and convinced the spineless Walla Walla County Commissioners to close the place to climbing. However, I bet you could hop the fence at the parking lot and no one would be the wiser (did I just suggest breaking the law? ). They still allow hiking in the area along the few trails, but I would think that if you were discreet, and packed all your (obvious) boulder gear out of sight in a pack on your approach and departure, you'd come off looking like a (legal) hiker in the area. My $0.02 Photo of Two Sisters from Kevin Pogue's website: Otherwise, go climbing at Spring Mountain, Vantage, or Tieton (all three are better basalt and/or andesite). And as wazzu said, Banks is the closest place for granite bouldering, and there's a few longer lines there as well, and in Northup Canyon across the highway from Steamboat Rock and up the dirt road a short piece. You couldn't miss it even if you tried. Here's a link to Kevin Pogue's climbing website that should help you get oriented to nearby climbing areas. Click the top link for the map, and then select the area from the list below the map that pops up. Clicking on the numbers on the map doesn't work. PM me if you're interested in doing longer routes, but know that I'm not around as much as I used to be (new kid). Enjoy!
