  1. I ran into the former mayor (Clint Eastwood) when working there, as well as sold some dishes to his wife (the local news anchor) - I didn't realize who she was until she produced her ID when paying by check.
  2. Like the chairs on Aristotle Onassis's boat?
  3. 4 hrs drive, 1 way is close? And the pinnacles do have awesome climbing.
  4. And it's only 1/10th the boulders there! Ducknut - where are you flying into?
  5. Climbing at Castle Hill in Sunny Spring Weather.

    VETRANS!

At this juncture it may be a good time to take a close look at the government of our ally Saudi Arabia.
  7. Except for the Barryvox VS2000 - 120m!
  8. Ding Ding! You sir, win the prize! An autographed copy of "The Ethics of Mountain SpeedClimbing", or "When you make the rules right, you always come out on top"
  9. "a typical internet chat-site (Cascadeclimbers.com) characterized with the frequent exhibition of marked immaturity combined with aggressiveness, hostility, extreme gossip, hearsay, dishonesty, and so on, in addition to the even more typical personal condemnation, sexism, biggocy, racism, profanity, defamation, and so on"
  10. I dig my Avocet - reliable, relatively small. My Suunto was the size of a dinner plate, and broke (go to an REI-Outlet sale and count the number of broken Vectors - I was at one that had 20!)
  11. But they only have a size 8.5 in stock now

    Bizarre Movies

To brazil one should add Time Bandits The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen completing the trilogy. Memento (odd, not bizarre)

    Bizarre Movies

The scene with the razor will always give me the creeps. Notorious - it's a Hitchcock movie, so it's failry normal, except for the Salvador Dali painted backgrounds in all of the dream sequences. Trippy!
  14. 3 Pair of Tele Skis 2 Pair of AT Skis 2 Pair of XC Skis 1 Pair of "approach" skis (aka old Alpine skis w/Ramer bindings) 1 pair of Iggies I've yet to decide how to mount.
  15. The higher the DIN, the harder it is to put on the heel. You don't have to stomp on the heel to get into tele's (depending on your binding), but I find leaning down to futz with levers equally puckering. Ski crampons should be easy to put on - brakes I leave at home, unless I'm going to a resort.
  16. Your forgetting the most important part - stickers! Ya gots to have lots of stickers to look cool!
  17. Many of the touring/tele skis on the market are the same/minimally different than production alpine skis. Example - Atomic Sugardaddy/Teledaddy. The Teledaddy is a sugardaddy without the stupid binding plate. The bindings won't take abuse like jumping off cliffs, or moguls all day - but who wants to waste their time with that?
  18. Definitely an excellent slideshow! Well done Wayne!
  19. Wendy can - but not in Focused. her segment was weak. Alison Gannet rocks. As does Kristen Ulmer. Freshiez be aroudn the corner!
  20. Aside from binding release issues (500's aren't as reliable as Downhill binders, but better than most tele bindings), no.
  21. 2nd wind usually has some ski stuff - also try upstairs at Storm Warning they've got used BC stuff (tele, AT, splitboards). The REI discount skins are functional - I'd spend a little extra and get the mail order Glidelites from sierratradingpost instead.
  22. I agree, ft, m, something besides pitches would be nice - but it's a pain to get that information.
  23. Oyster me boy! Oysters! It's what kept Strom (dozen a day) young for so long!
  24. Your size (100mm), and a better price sir: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/product.asp?base_no=72009 of course that's only if you want glidelites.... As for my ability. I know I'm a cubicle dwelling crappy climber/skiier.
  25. The shrike is similar to the metal shafted X-15's (red) of a couple years ago. Shaft may be a bit lighter. The shrike is not the same as the older, bonded rubber shaft (BRX) X-15's of several years back, that look like a Black Prophet without a fluted shaft, and without a replaceable head.
