  1. Ask the next girl you see with a PermaSmile why she had it done.
  2. But then there are the Nations Research Labs. Where boss's search regularly to find out how many papers their minions have published. Where postgrad exploitation is the norm. Oh, and they have the wonderful thing known as the "CRADA" (Cooperative Research And Development Agreement), yet another Reagonian bit of corporate welfare. "Here's the labor of a grad student for a year, with all of our facilities, plus oversight, for...$100k"
  3. Sack up. Where's the waste? Where's the money going come from? These things cost money. Roads have to be repaired once opened. Areas have to be patroled. All I see is blah, blah, bullshit. All talk and no game. Pathetic!
  4. Talk to Congress & The White House. Congress is willing to approve money for acquisitions, but not road repair. The White House isn't willing to request money for repairs (that it said it would request!) Fairweather, which party's in charge again?
  5. As shown Fairweather, the NPS just doesn't have the money. It's the poor manager, when not having money to manage their current infrastructure, increases the resource demands. Of course it takes tax dollars to pay for all this.
  6. Rainier has $101 million maintenance backlog, over half of which is road repair. Perhaps they should work on that first? Oh heavens me, I let facts intrude!
  7. Any stove simmer's well if you use the Heat Diffuser from an Outback oven. (The Blanket's good for winter cooking as well, and everyone (not just gf's) like's freshly baked goodies on a camping trip. Cornbread, Gingerbread, roll's, MMM!
  8. Letting roads rest for a little bit after snow melt decreases the maintenance costs.

Like constantly mispronouncing Abu Ghraib? It certainly gives the impression you don't give a crap about it, and what happened there.

  13. They have ~100 employees. If they have $2.7 million in revenue, that's $27k each. With no expenses.
  14. The Washingtonpost printed the word used. They also pointed out that Dick reads the newspaper!
  15. GregW- Their economy hadn't been able to compete since the early 70's. Increasing demands for disparate consumer goods stressed the central planned economy. The military buildup was also a factor, but that started under Carter.
  16. That's what I thought, but $1.2 million from the rest of the climbs and Summit Haus seams a bit small The WSJ's usually excellent about sales, profit, etc.
  17. Is this a misprint? That's phenomenal for a guiding concern!
  18. We trained the, we funded them, we gave them arms. We're not responsible for their actions, but we'd be stupid to do it again. Communism was on it's way out before Afghanistan.
  19. No. John Adams, and John Quincy Adams were both 1 term presidents.
  20. My favorite is "I had other priorities in the '60s than military service."
  21. WTF do you care anyways? I think life in prison would be worse than death. Guess I'm just not big on "vengeance"
  22. Huh? Jail Overcrowding lets other criminals out, usually non-violent offenders. As it's cheaper to give someone life than to execute we could use the money to buy more jails/prisons.
  23. Cloud Cap LIft = Palmer of Meadows
  24. Explaing again how life w/o parole (the standard alternative to the death penalty) will allow criminals on the street?
