  1. Last year you had to "descend" into the bergshrund at crystal pass. It involved maybe 10' of ice downclimbing. Sounds like there's been a lot of melt if the reports are accurate. Would be interested in seeing a first hand accoutn.
  2. Or he couldn't afford the bandwidth!
  3. I think the Wildwood trail. I saw him at the Cornell Rd crossing last summer w/Caddis (if you don't fish, why name it after a bug?)

    This board is silly

Heaven forbid it meet up with one of the local Olympians. Better it come to Oregon and hook up with a lawyer who'll keep it in the garage.
  5. After watching a party be guided up last summer, no. A 40' moat would be some serious melt in less than a year.

    summer job?

Chiropractors were doctors before there was chiropracty? Chiropractic care is a practice of the 20th century. It was desicovered in the 1890's.

  11. Because they have an ever shrinking maintenance budget and they don't feel like rebuilding the road every year?
  12. A climber with ADD - OMFG! That's only, what, 50% of the climbing community? I'm also saddened. A lot more worthwhile projects for people to donate their time and money to then some brat going on an uber Outward Bound journey.
  13. The TM:EX = R:EX = 10:EX all the same ski, just different marketing spin. For touring many people your weight like something in a 180cm to 185cm for the fatter boards around. BD/Atomics are decent planks, so are K2s, so are most skis made to today - buy something cheap this summer, if you hate it you can resell it come winter for as much or more than you paid for it. Whats the difference between AT and Downhill? Depends on the skis. For some its a different topsheet (see above Atomics) for others they've lightened the weight. As for "compromising performance" all depends on what performance you want. Everythings a compromise from 220cmDH boards

    Car suggestions

TurboDiesel VW's are cool, the do command a premium, unless you are careful. The recent mexican built Vw's(Jetta) aren't as good as the Germans. Honda's are cheap to own and run. As are toyotas. For that much $ my grandmother will shortly(couple months) have an '01 Dodge Intrepid for sale. Garaged, well maintained, 20k or similarly stupidly low miles. Just west of you in 'tonka.
  23. "We hit 60 mph in 7.7 seconds, just as Audi predicts for European Allroads. If its guesses at performance for the lighter U.S. version are as trustworthy, that will drop to 7.3 seconds with Tiptronic and 6.8 seconds with the six-speed." C & D. Only the Allroad has pneumatic suspensions, only the Allroad has clearance. I've driven a Mercedes with 300k, and 2 Hondas to 160k. Yes the Benz was nicer to drive faster. $6k repair jobs suck, and every single repair, plus regular maintenace is more expensive. Not to mention insurance, not to mention how much premium gas blows. As for 100+ regularly, whatever But as you said, different $ for different folks. I prefer to talk the several $k a year difference and travel.
  24. I had a shared bunkroom with 16 other people. That's not quite my scene.
  25. Not a cruise as such, but a ferry ride. The Navimag up the coast of Chile. Standard experience from what I understand. You eat, you alot, unless you have a private room and a honey, then you
