  1. No shit! Let's set ourselves up for brain trauma and sweat to death in a wool hat at the same time! And who the fuck is this guy? It's like looking at a taller, better looking twin?
  2. Marcus and I were on "Dirty Sanchez" Today. 2 parties were on Ride the lightning ... obeviously not heeding the above advice. Hope it was safe for the lower team. We rolled outta Portland at 8am, dicked around watching the 1st party atop P4, climbed our route, and were off and out before the 1st party topped out, home before 9. So, basically, everyone in a Tri-State area should mob the shit out of this place thanks to Craig's recent TR. Bring your bolt-putter-inners, cuz there's a lot of potential. Dirty Sanchez was a fun 1/8 of a day in the hills! Pretty solid rock all in all.
  3. no, you just bolt the cracks instead
  4. sounds perfect. you can get a yellow hard man pad from MEC if you wanna be in the "club"
  5. Add to kevino's statement, biomechanical issues in the foot are the 3rd most contributing factor 1 being overuse 2 being hip muscle imbalance 4 being pelvic distortion or leg legnth discrepancy 5 congenital abnormality of the location of your patella, acetabulum, tibia/fibula, and tarsals.
  6. Ivan and I helped usher in his new year of life at the crags today. Happy times!
  7. I think they are a huge step foreward, but they still have a narrow toebox and a toe spring. The good thing is you can bend out the toe spring and stretch out the toebox. That's what I was going to buy for my next running shoe.
  8. Pullman for nice weather and better job Portland for keeping your girlfriend cuz she ain't joining you bud.
  9. I gotta get me a pair!
  10. Did you do anything 8-10 months ago? Climbing, or a fall or anything? Is it red or swollen? Joint pain anywhere else. Tired? Sick? Some ideas: de Quervain's tendinosis or thumb extensor sprain, capsulitis, degenerative or inflammatory arthritis, game keepers thumb, scaphoid fracture. I'd get an x-ray to rule out the latter ideas...they're fairly cheap and easy to take.

    Anyone ever notice?

Nuts & Gum make a particularly terrible trail mix.
  12. oh, and a lot of time the medial part of your quads (the VMO) is weak and causes a patellar tracking dysfunction leading to ITB. One good exercise is to squeeze a medicine ball (basketball or smaller size) between your knees and do squats leaning against the wall. Hold an isometric contraction at 90degrees for a while on each rep. Taping your patella medially can also help. Lots of stuff you may not have tried.
  13. I'm shocked that a climber would consider this 1.) new information and 2.)not enjoy it
  14. Yes and no....if you saw someone who could find the weak link, it wouldn't matter what their title was. As far as having your knee or foot adjusted, hell it's worth a try, but no promises. An adjustment to the fibular head can really help some people...like a person I treated today for ITB. Have you tied "Graston" technique (a glorified x-fiber or gua sha therapy) If you get the injections, just try to limit the amount. One time only. If you're fed up, you're fed up and it's about 50/50 if it's gonna work or not...and if it doesn't you need to be careful about tissue damage for a while.
  15. the ankle bracelets detract from how stupid the shoes look at least!
  16. Expect for it to recur w/the injections. Listen to downfall's advice. You need to change something...
  17. did you have a seizure?

  19. I think I rapped it from the top of P.3 w/a 60 in 2 raps via the way up.
  20. A medial forefoot wedge is nothing new! But they work. Still, the fundamental issue is the shoes. A flexible shoe with a toebox being the widespart of the shoe (hard to find), no heel elevation (even harder to find), and toes that don't point upwards will do much more than any orthotic. Then you can add a medial forefoot wedge, metatarsal pad, hindfoot wedge, and a heel lift(if there is a leg length discrepancy). If anyone knows of a super low-profile orthotic that can be customized with these features and doesn't require plaster casting....let me know.
  21. lemme get my snake and tamborine
  22. I should be there in 3 weeks!
  23. i think you should complain about it on the internet
