You love trees, but do you love to kill them?
  2. Ice dancing is your future.

We all headed up to private Idaho, but after a couple of routes, it was decided that a real fight with real anger, and possible blood shed was better than climbing. AlpineK may not be as tough as he was in 1991. That was the year of turmoil in Moab, the Rake incident with "That Fuckin' Mallet", Otis's Van with Barnes, and Kit and Charlie teaching us shit.I think that AlpineK and Allison are just smitten with each other, and are just acting like sixth graders. Don't forget the bb gun fight at Smith and the kidney punch incident.
  4. Buddy, I may not have done the tour, but I've been to Snow Lake a lot I've also been all over the south side of Mt. Snoqualmie. I've also used Martin's guide on a couple trips, and I liked it. So maybe you don't know how to skin, or maybe the conditions were too icy. You obviously are scared of skiing through trees. The guide isn't going to tell you what the conditions are like on a given day. The guide doesn't know what level skier you are, and the guide isn't going to hold you hand. My advice is to suck it up and quit whining. Either practice and become a better skier, or sell the guide, your skis, and take up another sport like ice dancing. I bet you would make a great ice dancer. [ 03-14-2002: Message edited by: AlpineK ]
  5. Ya know I only wapped you once upside the head. I held back cause your a woman. All that means is you can push me further than most guys could without retaliation. Just remember I don't forget and I'll eventually want payback. Just keep pushing missy and you'll find out what 009 was talking about. I ain't afraid to go toe to toe with ya. 6. I mostly agree with your critique of Ted's music; though I do like Journy to the Center of the Mind. Like him or not Ted is a pretty good shot. You couldn't out run him, unless you have a bad ass monster truck too, and you couldn't climb fast enough to get out of range. Don't fuck with Ted he'll get ya.
  7. Watch out Sparky. I've seen a couple hunting shows featuring Ted. He'd drop you and have you off to the taxidermist before you could say motor city madman. Either that or run you down with one of his monster trucks.
  8. You have yet to see me roused Allison. Before you make a judgement please contact CrazyJZ and or Rat and ask them about the, "Battle at the Index Parking Lot 1991." Plus I've seen Kit Lewis at his best/worst. Don't make me open up a can-o-wuppass on ya. [ 03-13-2002: Message edited by: AlpineK ]

Now why do you think we would harbor a grudge Allison Could it possibly be a deserved grudge
  10. Don't take me to court Matt. I only said that at pub club a lot of people seemed in favor of the owl and thistle next week. I understand that the Park Pub has it's backers. We could do both. I don't think downtown Seattle is too far from the ship canal for those of us who live near it. Since, DP is coming back to town next week, he would like to attend, there is a precedence for locating a pub club in a convenient spot for a returning vacationeer (see emch's return from Bolivia); I think we should go with the Owl And Thistle next week and the Park Pub the week following. However, I will let the rest of you stew over the location (or maybe fight ) We can Decide next monday. Also it would be nice to here from Mr. DP himself.

    Hangovers

I had a wee headache, but it went away when I fired up the chipper and smelled the burning diesel.
  12. Pub Club was a good thing. Despite the fighting before, the event was great. For those of you who have not met the man formerly known as Captain Caveman I recomend meeting him in person. He may come across as an asshole, but he's our asshole and we love him. Others who showed up included; Mattp, hikerwa, erik, mtnranger, rodeo, Dr J, specialed, TTT, and a bunch of others who were so fantastic I can't think of their names at the moment. Also Dave Whitlaw of Washington Rock fame showed up. Having done most of my cragging in the Cascades using his guide, I thought it was quite a treat. Lastly it was nice to see Victoria show up. She seemed embarrassed for the female gender due to our earlier fight, but we were all happy to see her. Yes it was a sausage fest, but it was a good time. Like CC said above next week to honor Dave Parker's return the Owl and Thistle has been put forward as a venue. I hope we can all work the next site out without the fight this one caused.

  15. We miss you Lisa
  16. While the avalung may work you shouldn't rely on individual stories. I would be interested to see a study done on the effectiveness of the avalung. Until then the thing is too funky for me to shell out the money for.
  17. I really like meeting other climbers. I doubt I would have met many without the Pub Club. Back before we had any kind of a schedule friends of mine that post would complain that we were always drinking in Ballard. While the majority of CCrs live close to the ship canal there are still plenty who don't and yet still show up. I think the current schedule is weighted towards where the majority live, and if we try and force the issue through the tyranny of the majority then pretty soon only people close to the ship canal will show up. If we had lots of local Pub Clubs I would never have met Erik, Dwayner, Pope, Jon, Capt'n, TTT, and a bunch of others. Not to name names, but I guess it's obvious (Icegirl) trying to argue that Alki is not in Seattle and or a huge distance from the ship canal is crazy. I don't mind driving and I am happy to give rides to those that do.
  18. Dan only you truely suck

  21. I'll be driving east about 7ish Icegirl. You can get a ride if you like. Allison too, but she's gotta work late.
  22. quote: Originally posted by allison: PS. You want us to show, offer to drive us. I'll drive you to a 40' pier so you can take a 50' walk.
  23. The problem with trying to be fair is it makes everyone a little unhappy. Oh well
  24. quote: Originally posted by allison: Have a nice Sausage Fest, boys. Allison there's no need to make this more devisive than it already is. I like to interact with women, but if it means sniveling, "yes dear...anything you say dear..," I guess I'll jump ship. Sorry you can't make it
  25. Icegirl The last time I checked Alki is in West Seattle and West Seattle was anexed into Seattle proper a long time ago. Also if you use Hwy 99 West Seattle is a hop skip and a jump from Ballard (and your neighborhood too). So quit your whining about outskirts. I'm down with Ray and Issaquah. We can drink near the ship Canal next week.
