Once you land in a shit pile you're part of the problem.

If they ban Dan they've gotten rid of 4% of their users and 7% of people who have ever posted.

I had Ballard Muffler install a muffler on my International Cornbinder. They did a great job. On a regular basis I use Fleury's (20th and Leary). They've done mechanical work on all my trucks and they did all the mechanics for the company I used to work for.

I see you boys have been fighting a lot. Just so I'm clear on my earlier point I think the mounties are an option worth considering if you want to learn general mountaineering, but I'd agree with Rudy that the mounties are no place to learn real rock climbing skills. The Mounties can be a way to meet partners, but I'd say that you run the same risks that you do looking for partners on this site. What you need to do is learn how to ask the right questions and follow up questions of a potential partner. Don't just ask how hard do you lead ask what routes your potential partner has done in the recent past. If their statements on leading match up with the routes they've climbed then that's good. I'd also say that as a first climbing trip you should go somewhere where you know that you are well within your skill level. If things work out then you can do some crazy stuff. I learned general climbing skills as a teen with the mounties, but I got most of my real technical skills by climbing with friends after I left the mounties. Have fun climbing in the Cascades.

I don't even know what SERENE means. I think I used to, but it didn't seem important enough to remember.

My name is George W Bush, and I like to declare war on small countries. There I said it.

I'd say the mounties can provide some good general Mountain information for a reasonable price. If you're starting cold it's a pretty good option. If you have some experience then refer to Mr E's list. Whether you stick with the club really depends on your personality.

All I can say is I'm a little shocked that Dru knows anything about the Lamb. I figured he'd have a shitty attitude about old Genesis.

I'm glad it's a funny story. Because if we had gotten hurt, it wouldn't have been. Now is anone else here man enough to admit to a funny story? Your right if somebody had gotten hurt you just would have been a dumbshit. Nobody got hurt, so it sets up a clasic comic situation. Here's a funny story: Last evening we were walking down from Bridge Creek Wall in the twilight. The light was getting very faint and the trail was not much more than some randomly spaced cairns. Every once in a while we'd stop to get our bearings and someone would say, "what would Gary do in this situation." Go rent a Faulty Towers DVD. John Cleese was the main actor, but he was also the main writer, and he'd write ever episode so that he ended up being the biggest idiot in the show. It's funny stuff and you could learn a lot...Embrace your dumbness Gary.

Some people hadn't heard the story, and some stories stay funny.
