  1. Another vote for Sabres. Do a search on here for LOTS of discussion re crampons on tele boots. I've been using sabretooths (teeth?) on my Terminators for years.
  2. I disagree Ivan. Those destinations often require a time committment that allows for greater flexibility. For example, you can summit Denali in less than two weeks if you are lucky with weather etc but most climbers budget a month or so. Same for Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia. Liberty Ridge, because of its proximity to a major metropolitan area, can be climbed in a long weekend if the weather cooperates. Which also explains why Hood and Fuji are climbed in such droves.

    Chalabi Raid

The US provides him with support (financial and political) and then he turns around and dumps on us. What an opportunist.

    Chalabi Raid

A raid was carried out on INC leader Chalabi's house under a warrant following the theft of state-owned vehicles. (Source)
  5. Neil Goldschmidt will be very pleased to hear this.
  6. Am I the only one who finds PP's writing style nearly incomprehensible?
  7. Thanks for the heads up dude. I missed that the first time. God bless mirrors.
  8. My brother died in Korea when the batteries in his tank shorted out and exploded setting off the HEAT rounds in it. An eyewitness I met later at Benning said something nearly as eloquent as the above. Your comments about the media and misinformation are spot-on. We've become so skillful at media manipulation that its hard to tell fact from fiction. Wag the Dog.

How do you know its "quality"?
  13. Superfund sites are in many cases were owned and abandoned by private owners. Private ownership is good for the environment all right.
  14. I know its early but I nominate this as post for the day.
  15. I've started out in less than optimal conditions because I drove a long distance to get there. Hell, haven't we all? We do live in the NW after all. I remember driving from PDX to Alpental to do Chair Peak. Woke up in overcast conditions that became pretty nasty at the base of the North Face of Chair. Listened to two guys from Seattle arguing about whether it was worth it to continue. They decided it was better to bail "because its so close we can just come back another time." I was like "fuck it, I drove 4 hours for this shit I'm at least gonna give it a try." We summitted but it was hardly an aesthetic experience. Sometimes you roll the dice on weather.
  16. He'll already be there. Just give him a shout out.
  17. I use the adjustable daisies all the time with no complaints. The aiders suck for real aid though. Use ladder aiders or get some of them coolio russian aiders and save the metolius adjustable aiders for jugging. Stop puffin before you set this tuff up.
  18. Thanks for the lesson on resoling. Much appreciated. I'll give you a try when I need my next resole.
  19. I cant wait for the video!
  20. My thoughts and heart go out to the climbers. Fuck.

  22. Whats that feel like?
  23. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner Klenke. The short answer is I don't support Moore's views for essentially the reasons outline by Will above. He's manipulative, deliberately deceitful and panders to that American lust for the absurd, a la Rush. Imagine how that Bank scene would have played out had it not been carefully edited? I tend to be pretty skeptical of extreme views from both ends of the political spectrum. And, I think Bush lied.
