Wow, looks amazing! Nice-looking rock. -
So you're supposed to automatically give up all your wands if you encounter another party w/o any wands? I guess I need to brush up on my wand etiquette - but anyway I don't bother with wands anymore (I lost them all to a party that pulled this trick on Glacier Peak about 8 years ago - but at least they did stop and say "please leave your wands in or else we'll never find our way back down")

There are one million TRs on the web.

Here's a photo from Baker last weekend... Twin Sisters in the background, to give you an idea of coverage.

helmet cam They've improved the resolution with the recent models... it used to be sort of like this:

Huge avalanche on Adams, is this recent?
philfort replied to hefeweizen's topic in the *freshiezone*
It's from several years ago. -
Aaron, we should probably hook up for some Olympic descents next season :-)
-
Ha, thanks... I've been playing around with the helmet cam... I dunno how I like it so far. On one hand, it's neat because it provides almost an exact record of your experience on the descent. But if watched on a big screen, it kind of makes me nauseous. Maybe I just have to learn to keep my head still when "filming"... I imagine a helmet cam could be pretty neat for climbing too (with some serious editing since it's so slow).

Mucho thanks for hosting the shindig Sky and Ross!

I had assumed there was a climber somewhere in your rock shots, and it was an action sequence Where's Waldo? -

I like how the fluorescent orange section on my pole seems to upset the jpeg compression. -
If a single bus across 520 can take you where you want to go in Bellevue/Redmond, then biking to Montlake from Freemont/Ballard and then taking the bus, ain't so bad. Although often on the way home 520 is so messed up that the carpool lane doesn't really help the bus go faster. If you have to take your bike on the bus, it can get pretty infurtiating if you don't get a spot on the rack though.
-
Very impressive... I don't think I would be able to summon the mental effort to push through so much boring trail!

Good steep spring routes in the Olympics?

Is there a "name dropping" category? j/k Tony....

They sure like to keep you guessing with the times. Last year the prize giveaways were scheduled for 3pm. But sometime between the end of the race and 2pm, they decided to rescehdule them for 2pm.

Trader Joes sells a Nutella knockoff that has less sugar and more nut content. I don't think it has hydrogenated oils either...

We came through there about half an hour before it happened (lucky us!). The roads weren't bad at all... a little bit of snow and slush.
