Of course the rich will get richer, you reach a point when you no longer have to take out loans or have things on credit. More money for you. You know something I never hear about in all of this economic bullshit is a persons/family disposable income, because in my mind that is a very important indicator of economic viability. People can be considered middle class, but between a mortage, a car payment, kids daycare, a family who's gross income is 80k a year could have a disposable income of $300/month, especially in an area like Seattle. These people aren't travelling, aren't eating out, stuff like that which has a huge trickle down effect if you think about it. I think a good indication is that thing in the paper today about the increase in delinquent credit card payments being up 5%, more people are being pushed over the edge of being financially solvent. 5% being pushed over the edge is A LOT OF PEOPLE!!! What would happen to most businesses if they lost 5% of their clientelle, like a restaraunt, because these people couldn't all of the sudden afford to eat there. Most businesses wouldn't be able to survive that with the cost of everything increasing at such a rapid rate as it is. Most business are on the edge to begin with. Does anyone else think our ecomony is seriously fucked?

I agree. I just returned from two weeks in Germany and Austria and I could get ANYWHERE on the train, I didn't even need to use the bus or light rail which gets you everywhere else. It blew my mind how easy it was to get around. And you can drink beer anywhere!

Here is the latest update. I turned the board off for a while today because there was too much posting going on, people apparently didn't get the message. The current situation is that we are going to have to fix our current database and hope everything goes back to normal.

Hey Folks, We are suffering some major problems with the website as a result of this whole power outage in Los Angeles. While this shouldn't have been a problem, the fact that the datacenter backup power didn't kick in has caused us some real headaches. Today I turned off cc.com so I could make a backup of our database in case any more problems happen. We have some corrupt data and missing data and I'm trying to determine what needs to be done. What the hell does this mean? I HIGHLY encourage people not to post anything other then spray which you are willing to possibly live without. It is very possible I will have to restore the message board with a database backup from early Monday or Sunday. PLEASE BE WARNED that anything that you post will possibly not be here in the next day or so! I've only turned on the board so people could retrieve PMs and do some basic stuff.

Since the power outage I have so far 2 users who's accounts have disappeared. If you account has vanished please send me an email, including when it happened and whether you can find any old posts.

Apparently their power backup didn't kick in at first so their whole network went down. Of course that doesn't matter if there is no outside connection to connect to.

Our servers are in LA and fell victim to the power outage down there. Officials report a loss of $1 billion dollars in productivity, but interestingly they also said there was a steep rise in productivity in the Pacific Northwest for a few hours.

Cyclocross is a lot of fun and it's a much more laid back atmosphere then the road racing scene. There is a big race at the Marymoore Velodrome called StarCrossed, last year had an Olympic and several Pro riders, and more importantly a big beer garden in the infield where you get to see lots of crashes. You can use a Mt. Bike if you want to, don't need a cross bike.
