This Friday, June 25, there will be a presentation given at the Tacoma Mountaineers clubhouse regarding the conclusion of some pretty extensive testing of snow anchors. Its at 7:30pm. Should be of interest to those wondering just how bomber pickets, flukes and bollards are. Not that it matters, but the testing was done independantly under a grant given by the Mountain Rescue Association.

I hope Gator or someone from MRNP chimes in on this. I tend to disagree that the accidents on Liberty Ridge are most attributable to climber inexperience. It is a committing route for sure, and of all the technically diffucult routes on Rainier, it is the most accessible. I'm willing to bet that most of the accidents that occur on Lib Ridge are objective hazard related that are the result of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Other than the garrolous, willful, self centered, self indulgent, liquor riddled, insidious, liberal hating, lies so much his dog won't even come when he calls personality, I think he's kind of o.k. BTW, the above is merely my opinion, and not neccesarily the truth.
