Just so you know, you can't just plug in a newer Firewire800 device into your older 400 port. They're differently shaped and won't fit. Such much for the plug n' play. So much for Monday morning nerd fest.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm from planet PC. What Fejas was referring to, it seems, was using Firewire for an internet connection. Lots of other peripherals can attach directly to your computer via a firewire cable though, like printers and scanners and such, and if you don't have the right port, you could be screwed. It seems like older (Firewire 400) devices can be plugged into the newer Firewire 800(1394) ports, with a special adapter, but I don't know if you can plug the newer (800) devices into the older (400) port that's on your computer. If your computer takes cards though, you can buy the new firewire cards for cheap and give your computer the capability to run these devices. Don't quote me on that.

Allison, the search engine only shows posts that you started. I guess you used to be able to search on all posts you ever did, but it slowed the engine way down, so they changed it. You're only seeing 50 because you probably only started 50 or so. What was your first new topic?

Oh my oh my. I don't know if any of you have seen this before, but if you haven't and are ready for some gut busting laughter (we could use some 'round here), check out this VIDEO . It's a totally comic documentary/skit/interview featuring a bunch of star wars fans that are hanging around outside some star wars convention. The whole interview is done by some dog. I think it was feature on Conan O'Brien or something. It's called Star Wars Nerds. If you don't cry from laughter, sue me.
