Szyjakowski, think a little before you criticize all military folk for being weak-minded. That's bull. Like Off-Width said, people join the military for all sorts of reasons. Some, because they want to protect our country and others because it's one of their only options for change in life, to get money for school or to just get on a better track in life. Not everyone is given such a great start in life and the military is a good way for many to straighten up, learn some discipline, travel the world, etc, etc. I'm sure that not everyone in the military agrees in Bush's cause, but they are there and they have no choice but to follow the orders of our government. It's either that or get court-martialed for jumping ship. You think these kids want to be on the front lines facing chemical weapons attacks?

OK, can I just say ? How could 180cm of fresh possibly be safe to ski, especially at 45deg.? I guess a lot has to do with chance, but you said that you checked the snopack and couldn't find any instabilities? I'm really curious as to why this could be? The first thing I learned about avys is to not go out in the backcontry when there's a 180cm fresh dump! Anyone?

I haven't been reading this site for too long, so don't really know what the extent of moderation on the boards is. The only incidents that I know of are the Rainier speed record and everything related to that. I only first read the topic after it was going for quite some time, just prior to all the massive spraying of horsecock and snaffledongs. It was an interesting thread to follow, and I, just like everyone, was waiting for some facts to materialize. Then came the horsecock and snafflebutts. Pages and pages of this crap. It was a chore and a bore to get through and I'm glad it was deleted. For those of you that have gotten your panties all in a wad because Mommy slapped you on the wrist and didn't allow you to scream insults and crap in public, go cry me a river. But as far as moderation in general goes, I *don't* think that this site should be moderated. Unfortunately certain folks can get out of hand with pages and pages of whining and snafflefucks and other worthless contributions and it's time consuming and I'm sure embarassing for the moderaters to have to put on their little adult costumes and go discipline the little children. It isn't a perfect world, is it? I seriously can't believe I'm wasting my time on this.

Snoboy, it seems like you haven't realized this yet... 99% of the time, Dru is spewing shit out of his mouth. Listening to Dru is like listening to an annoying adolescent who keeps screaming for attention. I've never had it come loose either. Actually, it can be a little tough to get loose when you need to top step and make it a little longer. You eventually get the hang of it though.

I agree it's probably your IT band (Ilial Tibial?), which runs on along the outer side of your knee. It's an overuse injury common to runners, and it sound like climbers and hikers as well. Damn thing gets inflamed and hurts like hell when it rubs and the only thing you can do is lay off, ice a lot, and who knows what else. It can hit you out of nowhere, totally sucks. Go see a physical therapist or get a second opinion. Sounds like the person you saw didn't know shit from shinola.
