  1. I have a large Mountain Hardware Tunnabora Jacket for sale for 130.00. Normally 300.00. Brand new. Ultralight. pm me for details.
  2. Just a little more than two weeks ago I used a cell phone to call 911 after an accident that could have been much more serious. I was glad to have it (and reception).
  3. That second shot is stellar. What speed did you shoot it at?
  4. Marmot Prince has a good point. Wait...
  5. Having gotten into two accidents recently I definitely have been considering carrying something more than ibuprofen (particularly because its a blood thinner and not a good idea to take when your bleeding like I was). I'm going to start carrying some percocet I have left over. Just nice to have something to turn to.
  6. Yesterday I talked to one of the eye-witnesses. Said the Snoqualmie guy fell around 650 feet all told from the top of the cliff to where he laded. Scary stuff.
  7. Fritschi Diamir Freeride Pro Randonee Bindings. I have 1.5 pairs of skis mounted with these. On sale at REI REI SALE
  8. I'll add some pics. Thanks Scott for the good (mostly) trip.
  9. Personally, I like using the r3 as an outer layer in dry conditions. It actually breaths quite well. Then, I usually have a synthetic puffy in my backpack, along with a shell. Pretty much an unstoppable combination. In wet conditions, I'll throw on a soft or hard shell, depending on what type of climbing I'm doing.
  10. Maybe we could start the trend of not pissing on the summit? Rather that perpetuate it? Just a thought.
  11. ah ok. Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure my time will come (hopefully I don't get the chop- but we all die).
  12. Just climbing partners? Is that what you're saying? Or literally you don't have people to hang out with?
  13. I have never lost a friend in the backcountry or anywhere in the mountains. Chalk it up to consciousnesses partners and luck. I know it will happen, however. There sure are tons of objectives hazards out there that we can not control.
  14. I don't do it. I figure that's all I can do. I think it is kinda lame.
  15. I think that stat depends on the individual climbers. Some people climb on the edge. In that case, they are much more apt to kill themselves in the mountains. On the other hand, climbing has a great deal of objective danger than cannot really be mitigated on certain climbs. In that sense it is similar to getting killed in a car accident.
  16. 50 liter. Specifically the Khasmin 50. Expands to 60 with the kangaroo pocket. Also, you can pair in down by removing the back sheet.
  17. Anyone been on this route or NY gully recently and want to comment on conditions?
  18. Baller. Congrats boys.
  19. Cabin Porn.
  20. Anything in?
  21. So I buckled under pressure when they didn't have the Trinity jacket in stock and went for the tunnabora. Definitely on the other end of the spectrum in terms of an external shell. Light weight minimalist shell jacket with climbing features. Problem is, I've never used a minimalist shell before. How will this work for someone who is really tough on gear? I mean, not like stepping on them with crampons every time out, but someone who uses their gear often, and not always carefully. Thoughts? I'm specifically looking for people who have used this jacket or a very similar one in alpine conditions over a period of time. (again, no reviews were found online).
  22. Good to know Cale. I tend to over-utilize hard shells in the 'pine and BC so yes, it would work for me in that sense. Just trying to get a feel for the jacket's versatility. I think I'll go for it.
