  2. I have been playing around on North Sister lately. fun mixed climbs. I will also be going at Rainier in the spring. I often hit up Hood, and associate as a Cascade Corridor Climber. I get out on rock quite a bit. You're more than welcome to tag along. I also notice that getting involved with a local scene NOT based on the internet, is a much more positive climbing community. I'd be happy to introduce you.... If I wanted constant spray, I'd live by the OCEAN PM me
  3. are you talking about monday as in tonight or monday as Monday night?
  4. Hey, How about Wednesday? My buddy and I are going to scout a waterfall for Ice on Weds-Thurs. Its at the top of the sandy drainage. Ill be around for a month and Im down for climbing soon!

  7. mmmmmmm..... May want to do some research ASAP as far as when you can climb the camp Muir DC route. Im not extremely experienced with the winter closure of routes, but I did see something about that when I climbed late Sept. Im sure someone will rip me apart on this, but heads up to look into it

  11. Putting in at obsidian trail off of 242 on thursday afternoon ~2 pm. Set camp at the base of middle sister. Push out ~3:45 Friday morning to bag middle and north sister. Then depending on time and how I feel, may go for south sister via north route Friday mid day or Saturday morning. Should be sweet. No permits needed since Im moving through obsidian. Planning on going solo, but if someone were to be interested...! -Tyler Roth.tb@gmail.com
  12. I got Hood on 7/4 and Im driving the pass again, So I figured "Why not go for a climb if I'm spending the gas". Push out at 11:45 PM 7-23 I will solo, but thought Id throw it out there Roth.tb@gmail.com (503) 896-8430 Tyler
  13. Sent you an email. I do agree about the holiday crowds. I go up to get away from people haha
  14. It's a risky act. Risking the limits of rock gear for a rush... I bet it was great, but without precaution. Smith rock echoes greatly. I yelled at koala rock on thin air when I climbed it trad, and I heard it echo back from the buckets. Never once did I hear an "on rope, swinging towards monkey face, anyone on route?"... Same as on/off rapell, or ROPE!! . It's exceptionally dangerous, but not all who do it are responsible. Im torn on anchor removal
  15. The forest service knows how and when to run saws. They have also already removed the most hazardous trees. There is a time and place for people to take hit to preserve the natural resource we live with, recreate in, and live for.
  16. I'm involved with the state hazard tree program and... I'm not fully aware of the closure, but most likely it will become a day use only. I had a hazard tree training in there and it's well known as the most hazardous campground in Oregon. It is an old growth forest and the site is riddles with rood rots, stem rots, heart rots, ( fruiting bodies- conks) wind throw trees, and frost damaged trees. I'm all for closing it. It's only a matter of time before one of those trees kills someone. They have an average height of 130'. To keep any one of the camp sites safe, they would need to just about clear cut it. The closure of Oswald west st park to day use was oregons controversial closure to day use, to protect ancient forest and people in harmony.
  17. Make that 7/15, last friday on jefferson
  18. Why is finding a long term climbing partner like trying to find a wife? I'm a fit climber with Adams, hood, and some Alaskan peaks under my belt. I have all of my own gear and I'm climbing harder and harder each time. I have one guy I climb with, but he's always 4 steps behind on everything, packing in.... Packing up... Getting to the trail head. I'm looking to knock off the PNW 18 peaks, and I'm motivated. I was on Jefferson 4/15. We got denied by high wind and rain but it was a good recon trip. Im interested in finding a climbing partner with summits and technical future routes in mind With that said, I'm interested in 3 finger jack or all 3 sisters in 3 weeks... 3-3-3! Pm me! Tyler
  19. How'd that rain treat you on Friday night. We were bivouac'd at 8,300 only to wake to high wind and rain when we were to push out. We, along with 3 other parties got denied. I'm hoping to do a sister 3fr in 3 days. Interested?
  20. Looking to go for a climb Saturday night. I have a family member that is being moved to hospice and I need to get out and blow some stress off. Looking to do south side, maybe up the gates, west traverse, or wyeast east ridge. Any one interested? Push out around 23:30 t line Saturday night
  21. I have the 1-3rd off and Im looking to climb 3 finger. I would really like to do a hike in/ set up camp near base on Friday, climb on Saturday, can Saturday night, and leave Sunday. This could all be negotiable. I have all of my own gear and strong background, just looking for a skilled climbing partner for some good company. I'm based out of Corvallis. Hit me up if you would be interested!
