  1. Does anyone know Dana Haggen? I ran into him a couple of years ago on SEWS. He was a really cool guy and quite a climber. We let him pass us on the SE Arete as he was soloing and moving much faster than us. Would be interested in knowing what he has been up to. If memory serves me well he put up some ice routes that were listed in Jim Martins book.
  2. your guys' suck cuz they aint water proof at least i can kayak with my shit. ....ZIPLOC.....
  3. I fully agree.
  4. Nice job idea guy! Thanks for all your hard work.
  5. freaking awesome man! The pics are fantastic. Makes me drool for a return to Alaska.

  7. Thank you Tomtom!
  8. Interesting: From the forum list,Rock Climbing Forum - "Come Join Peter Puget for inspiring discussions on the joys of cragging in a spray free zone." Does this hold up? I like the idea of the past 24 minus Beacon option.
  9. Leave my mom out of this would ya? I swear, no respect in this place!
  10. Perhaps if you climbed it as much as we do then you'd understand why it is important to us - no need to get snarky about it I have climbed at Beacon. I actually quite enjoyed it too. I honor it's importance to you folks as well. I am just saying........snark,snark,snark.....
  11. Can the moderators make a flipping Beacon forum? This has got to be nearly as long as the freaking Josh Lewis thread already. Sheesh! Edit: See it was soooo long I did not have it in me to read the newest posts before I made my request and now I notice it was already suggested.
  12. My buddy beat her to that idea. We call him the man whore due to the fact he once seduced and then slept with an older (not unnatractive) lady so she would buy him a pair of La Sportiva mountain boots. I still give him shit for it but mostly it's because he beat me to the idea. ?One Green Bottle was written in the 50s. I am 87 years old...................
  13. I think this is the best and most pure trip report I have read in a while. I think this exemplifies why alot of us climb and it somehow takes me back to my younger days when everything was new to me and there was not beta everywhere. Right on man! I am digging this! infinite

  15. Looks like Ivan has started a trend with the mini bomb box! Been using one of those for about 2 years now, they are sweet. Nice hard case to protect your shiznit and room for goodies too! Oh yeah and they crank some decent volume as well.
  16. I am in awe of the banana!
  17. Stick to your guns Will, don't bow to cybersocietal pressures. Be your own man and like Leclerc said "Fuck the whiners!"
  18. Thanks for the pics Shapp. That brings me back. I'll keep in contact regarding a Monday in the near future. Maybe I can round up some of the originals to get out there as well.
  19. How about a Calendar Wall beer and trail fest? A good chance for some of us to check out the crag, have some fun, do some light trail maintenance, climb some old shit and meet? I would be up for spending a day out there rain or shine.
  20. Calendar is not a waste of time or a pile of dook. It IS a bit obscure and not a huge area as well as a little out of the way but I have had good times there and there are still good times to be had. I am going to try and copy my buddies Fox Guide this weekend. It has been years since I have been out there....maybe there will be a renaissance?
  21. I have access to said book and for 10 dollars per submission I will discuss whether or not a route idea is previously established or not. I here what your saying Shapp and mostly agree, but alas I get bored and feel the need for rabblerousing on occasion.
  22. yes, but he has the "big green book" Isn't Rod down in the desert somewhere cataloging trash or some such thing these days? I would say that if you wanted to get technical about it one should consult Pig Pen, Ken Strong or Smedley about routes, in Rods absence, as those guys are primarily responsible for the scrubbing and cleaning of "Calendar Butte" after being recruited by Fox. Then again it is DNR land so no one REALLY needs to ask permission of anyone.
  23. Well then Ivan you must come up North and consume massive quantities and do some climbing with my crew!
  24. Yeah Boner STFU.
