    Its snowing

Its still snowing hard here. I'd say about up to 3 inches on grass and stuff, but nothing on the streets.
  2. I didn't think there were that many people with my last name, just the golfer and my family. But alas, there are a lot more, including a person with my same first name! What a let down.

Lucky you......and lucky you for living in ellensburg..... Thats what I tell myself everday, especially when I look out my bedroom window and see the whole stuart range.

    Its snowing

Its snowed everyday/night this week in ellensburg.
  5. I am just getting into it. My first academy is April 4. Do they haze? The groundpounders do; they're like a bunch of frat boyz. Stick with Mountain Rescue; we drink more than all the other specialty units combined. Except maybe Dive Rescue... Can't wait to see some of the guys in our crew trashed...
  6. So you got it for 50% off and selling if for 40% off...
  7. No, I know about that one. They said they went on one earlier this week I believe. It could have just been a SAR one. Who knows.
  8. Let me know when you want to go. After going there yesterday I'm stoked to go back.
  9. He talked about both actually. Absolutley amazing. He showed a picture of the knife edge ridge from the summit (or close to) the two climbers in 'touching the void' had the go down. He said himself, 'it looked like a nightmare' and he admitted he probably would have gotten in trouble going down. So instead they rappelled down one of the faces, leaving every piece of gear they owned to make anchors. His Ama Dablam climb he had the greatest weather ever! Thats one thing that amazed me, EVERY summit shot he showed was clear! I guess thats what you get when you climb that many mountains. Anyway, he told a great story of how his pee bottle leaked all over his sleeping bad and down suit - sounded terrible. Sorry I rambled, great talk! Got me inspired.
  10. Sad news. Paul, was this the search people were talking about last night or was there another one?
  11. The Speed carried my overnight gear comfortably. I had to drape the rope under the pack lid, and strap my helmet, foam pad, and crampons to the outside on the way up, so I didn't pass the 'Eurokewl' test, but those fuckers never carry overnight gear anyway. Don and I split group gear pretty equally, so scientists are still trying to determine what filled his gargantuan pack. Saddam's fallen statue? A live goat? 2000 feet of bail runners? He did have an Alaskan style down parka the size of a small cumulus cloud, but other than that he didn't seem to have any noticeably bulky items at camp. The lowest moment of the trip for me was when he asked me to help him get his pack just before skiing down the road. I swear to God I was frightened of that thing. A vision of my broken body being dragged behind a rescue snowmobile on a back board flashed before my eyes. I thought it looked like he had a bbq on top.
  12. Dane, aslong as you don't mind climbing with two out of shape rock climbers, you're welcome to join. Shoot me a message with your phone number and I can give you a call when we get the details figured out. Also, I'll be coming from ellensburg, so that could save you some driving.
  13. Yep.
  14. sobo, are you going? I think Mark and I may go after we climb in tieton.
  15. Thats what i'm waiting to hear about. I want to get back up there but not if a shit ton of snow fell.
  16. Thats what I thought too! He was bitching about his skies as we passed him on our way out as well. I thought the road up in the morning was great, the way out SUCKED!
  17. Selling it...
  18. Shit, I didn't know there was such a hot market for skittles. I think when I go home for spring break, I'll make a stop by costco, buy a huge thing of skittles and put about 20 in each plastic baggy and go for a stroll around the local jr highs.
  19. i picked up the black diamond reactors, big upgrade on vertical ice over my last tools (petzl atzars.) I thought they were great on ice from wi2-wi5. I didn't do any mix, but the guy i bought them from said he climbed m7/8 with them.
  20. Theres snowmobilers on stuart glacier?
  21. Do you want to buy a pair of extra gaiters I have? Brand new BD super nice ones, I had to buy them when I forgot my other pair. Only used once.
  22. Don't know how many people you guys want but I'm always down to super-endurance stuff.
  23. Yeah, thats it. Although it looks a lot steeper there.
  24. Its all about timing...on thursday there was one guy soloing and thats it out at vantage, while the previous weekend we saw about 8 people at tieton.
