There was a fat blue flow below sherpa when I was up there a couple of weeks ago.

Sherri, what rope do you use with the Singing Rock Locker? I've been curious about getting such a device strictly for top rope soloing. With a place like vantage its easy to get to anchors and run laps. Thanks.

How are the pearly gates looking? I'm wondering after this warm weather moves in if they are climbable?
-
You weren't the guy making the bad jokes all morning then and went to stick clip the first bolt on the feathers are you?
-
If its on the north side of the canyon, which I think it is, then it is fine.
-
shit was sliding on you?

Dude its only been a day, why delete it so soon? I was going to post there but I can't! Perhaps thats why there is no interest.

How big is your car? Or should I say truck? A couple of the slides are pretty mellow, one is a lot bigger - I'm thinking up up to 50 degree angle up and down. Kind of like large moguls if that makes sense. There is also a tree that takes up a good 1/2 to 2/3 of the road, but its not that big. Perhaps someone else with better memory can help. I was up there last week and parts of the road of the first mile or so were bare to the ground. But it was also dumping snow when I was leaving and haven't been back since.

but you can drive around it

Haven't been on the westside of the mountains for a while...anyone been up there recently or checked out the face at all? Its probably a little late in the season but I was hoping with the cooler temps perhaps some lines would be in...

If you hate it so much, why live there? Or are those just affectionate nicknames?
-
Its still snowing hard here. I'd say about up to 3 inches on grass and stuff, but nothing on the streets.

I didn't think there were that many people with my last name, just the golfer and my family. But alas, there are a lot more, including a person with my same first name! What a let down.

Lucky you......and lucky you for living in ellensburg..... Thats what I tell myself everday, especially when I look out my bedroom window and see the whole stuart range.

Its snowed everyday/night this week in ellensburg.

I am just getting into it. My first academy is April 4. Do they haze? The groundpounders do; they're like a bunch of frat boyz. Stick with Mountain Rescue; we drink more than all the other specialty units combined. Except maybe Dive Rescue... Can't wait to see some of the guys in our crew trashed...

No, I know about that one. They said they went on one earlier this week I believe. It could have just been a SAR one. Who knows.

He talked about both actually. Absolutley amazing. He showed a picture of the knife edge ridge from the summit (or close to) the two climbers in 'touching the void' had the go down. He said himself, 'it looked like a nightmare' and he admitted he probably would have gotten in trouble going down. So instead they rappelled down one of the faces, leaving every piece of gear they owned to make anchors. His Ama Dablam climb he had the greatest weather ever! Thats one thing that amazed me, EVERY summit shot he showed was clear! I guess thats what you get when you climb that many mountains. Anyway, he told a great story of how his pee bottle leaked all over his sleeping bad and down suit - sounded terrible. Sorry I rambled, great talk! Got me inspired.

Sad news. Paul, was this the search people were talking about last night or was there another one?

The Speed carried my overnight gear comfortably. I had to drape the rope under the pack lid, and strap my helmet, foam pad, and crampons to the outside on the way up, so I didn't pass the 'Eurokewl' test, but those fuckers never carry overnight gear anyway. Don and I split group gear pretty equally, so scientists are still trying to determine what filled his gargantuan pack. Saddam's fallen statue? A live goat? 2000 feet of bail runners? He did have an Alaskan style down parka the size of a small cumulus cloud, but other than that he didn't seem to have any noticeably bulky items at camp. The lowest moment of the trip for me was when he asked me to help him get his pack just before skiing down the road. I swear to God I was frightened of that thing. A vision of my broken body being dragged behind a rescue snowmobile on a back board flashed before my eyes. I thought it looked like he had a bbq on top.

Dane, aslong as you don't mind climbing with two out of shape rock climbers, you're welcome to join. Shoot me a message with your phone number and I can give you a call when we get the details figured out. Also, I'll be coming from ellensburg, so that could save you some driving.

sobo, are you going? I think Mark and I may go after we climb in tieton.
