Yeah thats the volcano. If you don't hear back from dynafit and no local shop has a pair let me know and i can send you my spare one. Edit to add, Dynafit/Salewa NA has really good customer service. Try giving them a call too. Also, skimo.co sells heel units individually. might be worth seeing if they can help out. my buddy had good things to say about them

I'm a little confused, did you just break the volcano? If so check out B and D ski gear.

Been hitting the trails since I'm on my off stretch from the hospital Good stuff so far, thanks for the tips. Unrelated, anyone have a dynafit jig I can use?

Just moved to wenatchee...where do you locals go for trail runs around here? My roommate told me about a few spots but they all seem to come with the warning of don't run here during the winter or when its muddy. Working at the hospital and live in East wenatchee if that helps with suggestions. Willing to drive on off days. THANKS.

Argonaut Peak: FWA of the Northwest Buttress/Arete
kevino replied to JensHolsten's topic in Alpine Lakes
I think there is more ice on the trails than on the mountains. Nice job on the climb. After trying to ski up there on the 26th, I saw how perfect these conditions would be for winter rock ascents. Who is going to repeat the CNR on Stuart? -

Super warm and raining up there yesterday. Lots of stuff falling down. -
thats hubba hubba, by the way

Taken 12/26, although probably not really applicable given the recent warm weather and rain.

Looked like dry snow over rock. If this helps at all:

Dave, you ski the east ridge?

To those wondering: You can walk from Icicle creek road to colchuck lake in tennis shoes. No more 1" of snow on the trail. Lots of ice to slip on. Aasgard pass and colchuck glacier look like october with a fresh dusting. Travel is fast right now, took us under three hours to go from the rd to colchuck lake. All in all, a nice 14 mile hike with skis on my back!

Sounds like a bad batch of glue. I purchased the high traction skin in july, have about 15 days on them over 5 months and no issues. I only use skin savers between days of skiing, but when I'm out touring I do the glue on glue as well. Talk to the local shop if you're not hearing back from g3?

Copy that. So is the road skinable? Trying to talk myself into bad decisions when I'm back next week.

Road still open?

Trip: Thanksgiving in the Park - Date: 11/29/2013 Trip Report: I have been somewhat fixated on doing alpine ice routes in the Glacier National Park since I received by clinical rotation placement in Kalispell. I got a little taste of early season ice action back in October, however school and big snow dump have kept me busy through much of november. Thankfully things started to align for some climbing this past week. David drove out from WA and it was game on. We got in two days of climbing (~2500 ft of ice) and one day of taking the ice tools for a walk. Quick picture summary below: Always fun approach shenanigans and occasional deep snow: Which lead to great views: And good climbing: And stimulating descents Couple more climbing shots: Gear Notes: Me doing my best Ben Stiller impression: "Bring me something a little deeper" Also, NWALPINE, if you need a new picture to advertise your spider light hoody....

"Quit posturing at the weekly parties. Your high pulse rate, your 5.12s and quick time on the Slickrock Trail don't mean shit to anybody else. These numbers are the measuring sticks of your own progress; show, don't tell. Don't react to the itch with a scratch. Instead, learn it. Honor the necessity of both the itch and the scratch." -Twight

Yeah Ranger Creek has a lot of hang fire above the climbs and with the storm that rolled in starting yesterday I wouldn't want to be out!
