Re-traced figure eight. Kind of like a water knot, but using a figure eight. Had a partner that liked to tie the rappel ropes together that way. Is that the same thing as a flemish bend?

Sounds brutal I hope someone helps you out. But, BTW, you should be able to rap with a 50m, I do it all the time. Did you top out? Anchors at the top will get you to the bolts at the top of the hand-crack, and from there you can hit the ground. Did you bail off a single nut?

I dunno, I felt like the route was pretty chill, and I'm usually a puss. I've been on the north face of index before. That route would be a nightmare when wet.
