bra and panty pillow-fight? Uh, that would not be a fight.
-
I read these jokes to my girlfriend. And that's how the fight started...

OMG, I heart hexes and my DMM offsets, too. I knew I liked you!

I own one yellow linkcam and love it. However, it is usually the last piece I place; I place my BD's of the .75-#2 size range first and keep it as a spare "double" for those three sizes if I need one later on the pitch, or to build an anchor, especially since I don't know what gear I'll need there. It's an excellent asset to my rack in this respect. My linkcam has caught a couple decent falls without any damage(to me or the linkcam).
-
Thanks for the input. With all the references to cams not being fallen on coming up in the yard sale posts, it just got me wondering why this info should matter to the buyer if the cam looks as good as any other used cam.
-
I think I'll have G-M wired before then.
-
I've noticed that folks selling used cams(and those buying them)make a point of disclosing whether or not the gear has taken a fall. This practice seems to imply that a fall-free cam is better than a fallen-on cam, but is there a technical basis to this assumption? If the cam is not visibly damaged during the fall(ie-chipped lobes, bent wires, etc), does simply catching a fall make the cam weaker somehow? I've never seen cams rated for # of falls like ropes are. I fall on my gear all the time( ), is it time to retire the rack?

where is good sport climbing in Leavenworth?

Ozone topo: There's also a toprope area containing several good face/slab routes near Playground point. -
OMG, John! ONE of those routes would be a full day for me. You are amazing. Keep up the good work and good luck on the partner search.

Don't park on vegetarians.

Fender, loved both! Amazing how you can get such a good workout in such a short ascent. Whew!

Arch, you are MY hero. Just reading about your accident makes my stomach go in big knots, I can't imagine having lived through it. Holy crap, girl. Way to keep your wits about you and stay in control til help could arrive. You'll be strong again and climbing better than ever, I have NO doubt. I'm thinking of you every time I'm on the sharp end. If I were a superhero, I would have swooshed over there and kept you from smashing yourself up on those rocks. We could have scared the hell of the mountain goats. Hehehehe. -
While you're down there...

Pfft, that stuff's easy for us, you know, with the gaydar and all. However, figuring out a seating arrangement for the weekly potluck where no ex'es are seated next to each other is a different matter entirely. I'm not even allowed at the table.

Sherri replied to 111's topic in The rest of the US and International.
Awesome! Don't get many family-epics-in-Hawaii trip reports around here...cheers to the dad who brought the beers instead of water Sounds like something you'd read about in the Rope Up TR's! -

It's true. My computer crashes on a regular basis.

Spotted ONE of these at the base of "Them"(Wall of 10,000 Insects) on Sunday, 9/20. Seemed like it had been there for maybe little while but was still in very good condition. Today, in a deja-vu kind of moment, I spotted the OTHER shoe sitting on the picnic table at the base of Ultrabrutal(The Country). Weird. At this point, I doubt the original owner is still looking for the estranged pair, but if someone wears a size 10 it could be worth your while to collect them from the bases of these two climbs. They look almost new aside from slight weathering.

Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed the climb and the TR. I remember crossing paths with you that day on Calculus...you were taking the .10a variation to St. Vitus while I was grudgingly grovelling up the 2nd pitch of Calculus. (Not my favorite pitch on that route ) I was eyeing your #5 cam wishing I could check out Vector too! Hope you guys had a great time on it.

I'm heading to L'worth that night, but would love to stop at Index on the way and get in some laps (.9's, .10's). Plans may change if it's wet, so afternoon cragging at L'worth is also a possibility. I'll have a rope and rack. PM if interested.

how many pullups can you do?
Sherri replied to danhelmstadter's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
I do four sets of 10(each set with a different hand position on the bar), but I don't think I'd go so far as to say that it directly translates into any benefit for climbing. If anything, being strong tempts you to cheat on technique, which is more likely to make you a worse climber than a better one in the long run.
