Unfortunately I think Team America is pretty much hooped...oh well you've probably got your hands full already. Russia

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's probably a duck.

Some further developments: Linkage

It's the Olympics what do you expect? My fav is how a Spanish woman cyclist tested positive for EPO and a Spanish male also won the men's road race...hmmmm

I think this kid will have a bright future in the air force

If he is a minority they probably will.

Ugghh, 9 hours today from downtown Vancouver to Squish (stopped for breakfast though). Wouldn't be so bad but every man and his dog, camper van, delivery truck is going down the Duffey lake road now. And they didn't spend 600 million to upgrade the highway just for 2 weeks of Olympics and the 40,000 or so residents of the corridor. Think Maple Ridge of the north more like it.

[TR] Rex's Pillar - Climb/partial ski - 7/20/2008
gertlush posted a topic in British Columbia/Canada
Trip: Rex's Pillar - Climb/partial ski - Date: 7/20/2008 Trip Report: What a lovely day in the alpine. An easy approach, good friends, blue skis, nice firm snow for going up but soft enough for going down. Just did the top half and downclimbed the bottom. The summit ski was a bit steep & icy for my taste but not this guy: Gear Notes: axe, crampons, poles, skis Approach Notes: hike -
We could all power our cars on pixie dust and moon beams sickie

It was luvly, did the SW ridge of the N Spire one day and a "lite" version of the enchainment on the next (which meant going round the side of the S spire at 4th class and from Rexford rapping into the gully rather than descend the W ridge). What an area; easy approach, nice bivy spots, stellar granite, not too committing, I'll be back fer sure.
-
Was in the area last weekend (12/13) and everything still looks the same as the picture above.

Thanks for advice all..yeah I think sticking up in Nesak for 2 days is best. Max climbing/min hiking plus I don't want to get bonked on the noggin by any large items. That West butt of the spire looks pretty fun.
-
Has anybody climbed it? Don't have bivouac membership so no help there. Spending 2 days out that way next weekend. Day 1 would be Nesakwatch enchainment and day 2 is Labour day (it looks cool). Any other recommended routes in that area? Would it be better to stay up in Nesakwatch area and do some of the other routes up there? Nothing too committing..

[TR] Yak Peak - Yak Check 6/28/2008

Alpine select gives it 8-11 hours so seems pretty reasonable... course you can't trust everything Maclane puts in his guides -
Gay jokes from someone in the army? Gimme a break, everybody knows what you boys get up to on those lonely nights in the barracks

For the benefit of those born after 1950 and who do not listen to AM radio...who exactly are the Allman brothers?
-
Awesome, nice weather & seems like everything went smoothly for you guys What would you figure car to car on a day trip, 11/12 hours?
-
How did I know they were Canadians before I even checked the URL? That's easy, if they were American (or Australian I guess) they wouldn't actually be able to reach their own ass.

So you've spent probably over a trillion dollars, lost 4,000 dead soldiers, caused the deaths of god knows how many Iraqi's, the stated reasons for why the US went to war have been proven absolutely false, you have dismembered the state of Iraq (are the Kurds going to submit to the central gov't?) You have empowered the governing party allied with Iran... May was the lowest casualty month yet..is that because the Sadr army decided they didn't want to fight for a month? 8 americans have already been killed this month, almost 1/2 as died in all of May..I dunno... How about you tell us why you think you are winning?

Seeing as his first post was 5.30am today I don't think too much work is going on...better hope he's not on the taxpayer's dime today!
